Just got my Springfield back from Robar. NP3 on the slide and internals, and black oxide on the slide. Very glad to have this one back:
Nice Eclipse. I just got miney back from the Kimber Shop today. Here she is with a new slide with an internal extractor, polished throat and trigger job- all for free because I had purchased an older Eclipse model with an external extractor and had occasional FTF problems. Also added some new grips for the finishing touch. I will post better pictures soon.
Just took it to the range tonite to test it and I am thrilled to have this back. It shot excellent tonite. I really love the 1911 body! LOVE IT! :D
Here's my almost finished product. T'ain't much but I like her.

My H&K USP.This group shot at 25yds using 230gr ball from a rest position.Wish I could say I can shoot a group this tight offhand but I have tendency to shoot a bit low and to the right a bit with it.
I would say that Im lacking skill because of that but with other handguns I do not shoot low and right.Means I just need more practice with this one I guess.
Anyway,I love the USP,the egronomics and charactoristics are wonderful, and the mag release is supreme.
Yes I know I used the wrong target but its all I had available.
TNT.45, is that a pistol lying next to a white chocolate SIG,
or does my screen have a color problem? :p

Parvenu If you look back a page at Banshee's post he has a Pick of a AMT Hard Baller long slide posted.
At top is the Auto-Ordnance 1911A1 wearing a hi-cap mag and belt-hook. Lower gun is a Shansei C-96, 3-digit serial number and beautifully machined. Both are mint. ---45Broomhandle
Thanks it looks even better in person because that picture is a bit dark. Going to the range tonight to see how it compares to the Springfield TRP and the Nighthawk Custom. It has its work cut out for it if it is going to shoot well enough to be worth twice as much as the TRP.

Springfield Mil-Spec and a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible:
I bought this in 98 and have about 800 rounds through it.
(It did not get shot for few years) This gun has an awsome
trigger and to date has been 100% reliable. The gun has
always been an great shooter and I will never trade it.

Here are my consecutive serial number Kimber Series I Customs. They are the 25th anniversary models and only 1911 of them were made. They are unfired, in the boxes and plan to stay that way.
CDP Pro for daily carry, Warrior for Range and HD
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q43/Pk14_photos/WarriorandCDPPro.jpg
The Warrior's been updated with a Kimber extended magwell and Hogue wrap-around grips. The TRL-2 is a great weapon light - thanks to the forum members who helped me make my decision on the light!
Edit: Nevermind I see from the serial number prefix that it is a Khar-Auto Ordnance. 16" barrel right?

I didn't realize this picture thread was here!! Here's one of mine I just recently personalized for my son. He's only 9 so he has to wait awhile before it's actually his.
Yes, the Thompson has a 16" barrel. I've considered going the SBR route but really don't feel like dealing with the NFA hassels. I did luck out on the wood, seems to be pretty close to presentation grade in my opinion. Here's a link to a few other pics if you're interested:

Auto-Ord. GI M1911A1 with a Wilson Combat extended safety, and my assortment of aftermarket grips. The faux ivory with the Reaper on them is what it's usually wearing. The faux ivory with the Mercury-Head Dime concho for a medallion (The blurry white & silver thing on the left... ) is for my RIA in .38 Super. The snakeskin ones look sharp, but don't hold up very well.

Here is one of my favorites. This pistol and her slides were created by Jim Hoag of Canoga Park, California. The barrels are Barsto target barrels. The lengths range from 8 in. to 4 in. This very pistol and the slides are pictured in George Nonte's Combat Handgunes, ed. by Edward Ezell. This is a fun pistol to shoot and has proven to be a tack driver in a Ransom Rest. Definitely shoots better than I can do. I also have a Colt .22 slide that Jim has fitted to this slide to make it an all occasion item.

My winter carry gun, as soon as my Brommeland IWB holster arrives...
He goes with me everywhere! This is the Bersa Thunder 45 Ultra Compact, and it's pretty small. Just a few whiskers bigger than my Bersa .380, but it holds eight rounds of 45ACP, a lot more comforting to my way of thinking. After about 700 rounds, the only glitches are when shooting full-power 230-grain defensive ammo, it occasionally locks the slide open. I carry 200 and 185-grain ammo, and it's 100% with those. It weighs 26 ounces empty, disappears in a slide holster, and gets smoother and slicker every time I fire it.
I had originally thought it was a traditional DA/SA, but it has a decocker, so it can't be carried cocked and locked. Which is fine, the DA trigger is pretty good, the SA a little mushy but consistent, and about 4 pounds. It's a lot more accurate than I am, and I think it's cool looking. The frame appears to be polymer but isn't, only the grips are synthetic. The chamber is fully supported, and I've already run some +P handloads thru it with no problem. Recoil is a bit brisk, but it's a light 45, so that's to be expected. I only notice it when I'm trying to empty it fast at 7 yards.
My dealer got it to me for $450 with 100 rounds of ball ammo thrown in, more than fair for what it is. I have to say I haven't been this happy with a gun purchase in a long time!

This pic kind of sucks as it is too dark, but these are my 45s. Most of these have only been fired a couple times (literally). I probably have a 100 or so rounds through the Glock, but the others are pretty much unfired. 45 ammo is too expensive....

Also my well used Gold Cup hardball .45. And who wants to identify the pistol at upper left? One guess only.
