I've recently purchased a Taurus PT-99 used and one of the magazines will only accept 6 bullets although it holds 15. The other magazine works great. I can load the 6 bullets and feed it through the firearm, however I have not fired it. This mag doesn't like to drop when you press the release either, you have to give it a little pull. The other works fine. Thanks for the help.

Is the magazine dented or crimped in some way? Or could a previous owner have blocked it for some reason, maybe to comply with a law or the rules of some shooting game?

If the magazine has been crimped or a block has been put in it, the magazine wall could be bulged out, explaining why it doesn't fall free.

Is the magazine stamped with the Mecgar or Taurus name?

Most aftermaket mags, excepting Mecgar, will have various out-of-spec dimensions.
