Price estimate from the brain trust...

A friend wishes to dispose of his old, well-used hunting partner, a Beretta Silver Snipe 12g O/U, 26" Imp/Mod. One grim weekend, he left it in a shearling gun case, and had some serious rust. He's had it refinished as best it can be, but it still shows just a little light pitting on a small portion of the top barrel. It has single trigger and extractors.
Can anyone speculate on a fair value for this shotgun?
TIA....
Edited to add: It's going to a gun show tomorrow, so I'd like to know how to price it.

There is one on this site for sale. It is hard to tell a price without seeing the gun. http://www.indianagunclub.com/beretta.htm

Thanks, Kudu. Any other nominations before we close and vote? That site had one for $895. Auctionarms has one sitting at $125, and Gunbroker at $250. Well, gee.

Well I went to the little show in Bessemer, and turned down the only serious offer that was made, $300. Time will tell if that was a good decision

Hi Hutch,
FWIW The 23rd issue of teh Blue Book of gun values lists the Silver Snipe at the following:
60% $395
70% $425
80% $475
90% $550
In the condition you described with the pitting, even though the gun has been re-blued, I'd rate it at about 60%
Keep in mind that the above prices are supposed to reflect the average actual national sales prices of guns in these conditions.
So I don't think an offer of $300 from a dealer is that far off.
Regards,
Rob
