My dad bought a used TC Hawkin and while sighting it in we noticed that the number 11 cap didn't fit the nipple very tight. We figured the previous owner sanded it down or something and that was the reason for the loose fit. Well, turns out that the new one he bought for it last week is loose too. Is this normal? Any ideas on what he can do instead of pinching the cap to get it to stay on?
Thanks

Either
1. Use a #10 cap.
2. Pinch it.
I've always done one or the other. What else is there to do?

Try pinching it. If the gun fires without hitch...what's the problem??
If not, you can buy a new nipple from T/C's website.

Thanks guys. I'll have him check to see how the #10 caps fit. He really doesn't like pinching the caps.

You can also purchase a new Ampco, Treso, Hot Shot, or Spitfire nipple. Any one of these will accept #11 caps with a nice, snug fit.

I'd rather pinch a #11 than pound a #10 onto the nipple.
