.22lr Conversions

Do you guys think its worth it to get .22lr conversions for each of your handguns if you can? Or is one handgun with a conversion enough? I have a Sig P226 9mm with the 22 conversion which is great. But I want to buy a new .40 polymer and am debating between the Glock 22 and Springfield XDm. I can get a 22 conversion for the Glock, but not the Springfield, do you guys think that should influence my decision?

I have the Advantage Arms 22lr conversion for my Glock 26 and am -very- happy with it. I actually shot the CCW course here with it. I shoot it in that configuration more often than in 9mm. (lots cheaper, duh!)

You -do- have to feed it the right ammo to make it cycle correctly. CCI Mini-Mags are a "sure thing", and what I pretty much stick with now.

As to if you =need= the conversion for each gun? Might as well ask why you need more than one gun in the first place. -I- like the fact that I'm able to get the same grip feel and trigger pull, but shoot a less expensive round. That was my primary reason behind the conversion purchase.

I have a Kimber .22 conversion for my Kimber 1911, and I just ordere'd a Spike's tactical .22 drop-in unit for my AR15. Why? The AR, I intend to be my primary, and the Kimber will probably wind up being my main-line pistol. That being said, my intent is to train and practice with both---but in .22lr, so that I can get things "down pat" without going broke. Why? Because all the training is identical, up until you fire that first full-power round.

That, and they're just a hoot. Making my 1911 into a .22 is just fun, and making my AR15 into a .22 beats using my Ruger 10/22 at the range :evil:

Do what you want, but sounds like it would run you a fair chunk of change doing so. I've got a Kadet slide for my CZ 75BD, and that's all I'd ever want in a 22 pistol.

I purchased the Marvel conversion unit for shooting bulleseye pistol and having the same grip as for the CF and 45 stages. I have nit purchased any other 22 conversion units for Sigs or Glocks.

I'd sell my soul if I could get a .22 conversion for my Springfield EMP.

That would be grand fun from the get-go.

I had the AA for my Glock .22, I didn't like it at first, but I think it was a matter of breaking it in, and being willing to use hot ammo. What I didn't like, was that it weighs even less than a regular Glock, It felt like a toy to me. One of the two mags never really worked very well. But the guy I sold the whole setup to says that now, as long as he uses mini-mags or hotter, it's near flawless.

I run the Ciener on my Kimber, and it's great, again with hot ammo and a break-in period.
