Perhaps there is room for one more Dirty Harry film, and this should be the gun he uses!

Sorry if this has been seen in an earlier thread.

When he says "did I fire 5 rounds or 6? To tell you the truth, in all the commotion I kinda lost count..." he'll be telling the truth. "In fact, what day is it? Where am I?"

gryffydd, your post made me come up with a spin on that idea:
"What does an old vigilante's revolver smell like after it's been carried Mexican style?"
"Depends"

With reverence and a tongue-in-cheek approach, of course. Keep in mind this is America, you know. We ignore our hero's and ignore their memory. Have they been in Newsweek or on "Entertainment Tonight" lately?
How many high school graduates even know what "Armistice Day" is, or can telly you when our most glorious naval battle, and one that likely changed history as much as Trafalgar, was fought? I read a skilled and highly respected historian at the time (c. 1949) who predicted June 4th and Midway would be as famous as Trafalgar, and nowadays it's not in the history books most high school student's read.
Rand aside, it's going to be dang hard to sell an uber-violent 78 year old detective working the streets of San Francisco today. Just doesn't work.
Some older things are best left as they are for us to enjoy, not cheapened. Like an internal lock on a model 29...

I can't see room on his walker for a large bore revolver. He might get a Senior Pass for the cable cars, etc. I do want to see his latest movie, but methinks 'Bloodwork' was pushing it for him - and especially his voice. Maybe they let him swing too long in 'Hang'em High', so many eons ago... I loved his work, of course.

The only thing Mr. Callahan would have to worry about on the mean streets of San Francisco are aggressive homosexuals and criminal aliens who don't speak the english.

How about a retired Callahan, being called in because a sudden rash of murders has a resemblence to one of his old cases? Imagine how he'd growl and mutter under his breath at the "New" SFPD?
Could be amusing. Especially when he saves the day for all the wonder auto packing young cops, with his ld .44 with half the blue worn off from holster wear.
It could work.

Geeezsh, how about Callahan's Grand-Nephew coming to the old salt about how to solve a serious case, and he has to cart the old guy around a bit? Add in the comparisons from the old days to the current SFPD, and city itself. In the end the badguy could hijack a semi, and the new kid could blow up the truck with the .600.
btw guys i wasn't serious about him actually making the film.

SF has some extremely violent latino and chinese gang members.
Besides he just made a Dirty Harry film its in the theatre right now, and it looks like he's taking on violent latino gang members, as a vigilante, we know the police would never violate the criminals rights these days.
Clint is right up with the times.

I could be mistaken, but isn't the guy who started and runs this board gay? this seems like an odd place to gaybash, not that it isn't a pathetic practice anytime and anywhere.
having said that, if all gay men are so gentle, why is prison rape the top concern for anyone going in, even tough guys?
and no, as it happens, i'm not gay. kneejerk bigotry just p*$$&$ me off.

I've watched that video several times before, but never noticed where he placed his left hand. He's damn lucky he didn't lose any fingers from the blast out of the front of the cylinder.
But I like the idea of Eastwood doing another Dirty Harry movie, it could very well happen ya know. Hollywood just LOVES money.

I thought it was funny when he called Lee Van Cleef an old man in "For a Few Dollars More" when Van Cleef was only five years older than he.

Oh, I thought it was one of those monster revolvers, and I was thinking of the incident where some guy nearly obliterated his thumb with, what was it...a .500, by holding it near the cylinder.
Never mind.
