Has anyone IDed the handguns used on 24?

They look like HKs and Sigs....hard to tell as a tight shot on the handgun is not definitive, however, some more proficient aficionados might know for sure.

So far I have seen an HK USP, Glock 17, Beretta M9/92, and what I think was a FN 5-7. I think Jack might have had a Sig 226/229 in a couple scenes, as well.

Damn, it looks like they've used "all of them".

Although, it looks like Springfield needs to get a hold of the producers and offer some XD's and maybe some Operators just to get their fingers in the pie.

pI have never watched this show.
So I ask this...
In a 24 hour period, how does this guy manage to lay hands on and use all of these weapons?

He's Jack Bauer. Really isn't any more answer needed than that!

And, oh yeah, its Hollywood.

I'm usually too busy reloading, dry-firing, or shooting to watch television. Sorry I can't answer your question.

Was that a HK MP7 last night, when they broke into the African guy's house? Not a pistol exactly, but it's the only 10 minutes of the show I watched.

Another interesting site and format is this one:
http://www.bauercount.com/report/season/1

I like the other site posted too, about all the weapons used, that's cool. This one is a little different, it keeps track of who Jack Bauer has killed and how, w/ bare hands, a grenade, or if a firearm, which type. Kind of interesting. You can go through season by season...

You know, you can be doing the first two, which I do, while watching the show. It's a good show and I have this feeling that a lot of us on here would enjoy. Obviously, don't take it as fact 100%, but it gets your mind thinking in the 'what ifs' a lot. Besides, Jack Bauer is in it, lol.

Ya know, I watch it with my wife, and enjoy it for what it is. But, when they have a scene like the other night where Jack escapes in a car while two FBI swat guys open up with AR's from 50 feet away on full auto, and he walks without a scratch...it kind of ruins it for me. Like when I watched Combat as a kid with my WWII vet Father and he would scoff at sgt Sauders running in front of an MG42..."he'd be ripped in half if he really did that" my Dad would say.

amd6547, I understand what you are saying:) I am a combat Marine(Nam 67*68) and I remember watching "Green béret" with John Wayne....it was almost comical. However, movies like "Platoon" were closer to reality that I experienced in Nam.

But the James Bond movies are the same....you know that is not reality, but it's suspenseful and action packed entertainment.

In that link above, one of the photos shows Jack with what is clearly a P229, but the footnote on the picture says it's a P228...

...to me, so far this season it looks like Jack mostly has an H&K USP. The list for Season 7 in the above link failed to mention what I thought was a P229. Maybe there was a P239 too...but definitely thought I saw some Sigs. When Tony is providing cover fire in episode 3 as Jack drives the car backwards off the 2nd floor of the parking garage, I think that was a Sig...229 probably.

Jack bauer's pistol of choice in seasons 1-2 is a two-tone Sig Sauer P228 in 9mm. In seasons 3-6 his pistol is an HK USP compact in 9mm. in Redemption he was running around with a glock 19 and some oddball pistol i dont know. in season 7 he has been using the HK usp compact again, which is dumb because he has been with the glock-toting FBI who aren't very likely to have a nice german made pistol among a pile of government issued glocks. when jack goes undercover with tony almeida and almost gets killed in the basement, that bad guy hands Jack a Beretta 92 and says "keep it, your gonna need it" when jack and the bad guys bust into that prime minister's house jack has a sweet little machine gun i dunno what kind it is though. possibly an HK mp7.

I don't watch the show, but looking at the sites posted, and the variety of weapons Jack uses to kill people in one day, one thought came to mind -- any gun will do if you will do. That is why I am out shooting and training and not watching Jack.

The season that has Rick Schroder playing a role shows him carrying a Beretta PX4 quite a bit.

Apparently he uses some new-fangled Glock with an external hammer. I'd like to see one of those! :neener: ;)

So, no doubt this is not "important", per se. But, it's alright to just relax and see if we can ID a diverse cast of guns on a really (IMO) awesome series.

Let's justify the importance of this by saying that we're honing our ability to identify a firearm by sight, thereby developing within ourselves an instinctive tactical advantage in real life scenarios. For example, if I can ID a firearm as an HK MP5, and I've got a Ruger LCP, I might be running instead of standing down

Or, if I know the typical round capacity of the foe's firearm I've just ID'd, I might have a feel for how soon he might need to reload, or even run out of ammo.

Sounds like a valuable thread to me :neener:

I'm pretty sure Jack will carry a Single Action Colt in the next episode that is rumored to take place in Arizona.
