Just wondering what the real world 'Guestimated' value for a 1911-A1 Colt Light Weight Commander in 95% condition made the first year production( I believe in 1949) would be? Thanks for any info. And yes someday I'll buy a book with the value's in it but till then anybody want to let me know.

Is it just the firearm or do you have the box, manual, and other papers that came with it?
You would need to find a Colt collector for the "first year of production" to add any value to it vs. someone just looking for a shooter.
A lot also depends on where you are located, how bad you want to sell it, how bad someone wants to buy it, etc..
Value range 600-1000 or so.
Usual disclaimers apply.

Unfortunately there was no box or papers when I got it. I've had it for about 19 years and came across it in the back of the safe and started wondering about it again. Don't want to sell it, I think I'll hold onto it and see if my son wants it when he gets old enough to know what he has. Thanks for they info.
