Question on powder - 846T

I'm going to be reloading .223 and 6.5 and just want to get some feedback on this powder. It's coming from Pat's. Prices are pretty good and the HM fee isn't an issue - I have friends that will buy 8lb jugs as well.
Any feedback would be great. For the .223 I'll be shooting a 55gr FMJ and the 6.5 I will assume a 123gr FMJ.
Thanks in advance!

846T powder was designed to ignite tracer rounds, hence the "T" designation. I don't know it for sure, but understand that it burns hotter than regular 846. A call to Pat's would be worthwhile I believe.
It's possible it could accelerate throat erosion in the barrel.

Does Pat provide pressure tested load data for both the .223 & the 6.5 you want to load?
If not, I don't think it would be a bargin at any price.
Just one more junk surplus powder you can't find load data for.

In speaking with Pat he compared the powder to BLC2. I am familiar with that powder - sorry for not getting back sooner.
Thanks!

Surplus 846 compares to BL(c)2. However, if you use the 846T variety, it burns much hotter than regular 846 does, and that extra heat is not good for your gun, and is not needed unless you are wanting to light tracers. You are much better off finding some regular 846, or some 844 (which compares to H335). That's just my .02, but what's saving $20 on powder worth when you burn out the throat on your barrel?
