What is skim bedding and what is the process for a 700BDL w/synthetic stock? What tools and materials are required?

308 Win, Sorry for missing your question in the other thread. Skim bedding is simply applying a thin coat of your favorite bedding compound to the areas where your action rest in the stock. This fills in any imperfections in the fit between the stock and action. In the case of the 700-P that I mentioned the aluminum bedding block in the rifle had a few high spots which I ground off using a sanding drum on a dremel tool. I used some Acraglass Steel Bed to skim bed the bedding block to smooth the whole thing out.
If you do a Google search using the terms skim bedding you will come up with some good reading as well as some stuff related to bed spreads and such.
