I have a G26 an I love it. The only problem is that it is a little fatter than I was expecting, making IWB a little more difficult. But since Ohio is rolling us through the mud it really doesn't matter.

Had one but Night Sights on it...Then a 3.5 trigger connector and finally a lasermax internal laser...sold it at a small profit...Man I wish I had it back...I may have traded for a m33 today (.357sig)...I can only hope

One for the road which I store out of state and one for homestate carry.
I just picked up an Akerleather.com Model 151 D.E.A holster for it. I like it better than anything else so far and I have tried several holsters including MIlt Sparks VM-2.

I got the pinky grip extension. Shoots greaty, accurate, easy to breakdown and clean. Recoil isn't bad at all. Conceals real well so far. I've had both a couple months. My other handgun is a Ruger P-90 45 ACP. Its kinda big though. I carry it once in a while.

More questions? Ask away.

Got a G27 and love it. Instead of getting the grip extension, I put one of the Glock 17 "+2" magazine baseplates on it. It not only gives you something for your pinky to hold, it allows one additional .40S&W to be inserted in the magazine, bringing its capacity to 10.

Have a G26 and am very happy with it. Carry IWB and nevery really have to worry about my sweat causing any problems with the finish.

I have one magazine with a grip extension on it. Bought it with the gun because I thought it would make the whole package easier to control during firing. What I found out, though, was that the grip extension shoves my fingers up slightly on the grip and pushes my middle finger up against the bottom of the trigger guard with more pressure than I want . . . this causes a painful "bite" on my finger during firing. I've come to realize that the standard, non-extended magazines are more comfortable and I don't lose anything in control when firing.

Like Karate, I have one with 3.5# connector & LaserMax. It is entirely reliable & easy to learn to fire... it's like a (nice) pistol trigger on an automatic. But it is fat. Many times I will carry my J-frame instead of my Glock. And, although the Glock trigger is nice, it's not a crisp single action.

I have a compact glock (G19) in 9mm. So far, I have about 800 rounds through it. I've had two failure to feeds on JHP (always on the last round of the magazine) but I've been told that if I change out my followers the problems will disappear. (I wish to get some full capacity mags anyway) I havn't had the chance to change the followers yet, but basically it's a good gun. It aims well, cleans easily, and is fun to shoot and cheap too. The trigger took a little training to get used to (I shot low/left as most people new to Glocks seem to do.) I like it and would buy another one.

I had a G27 but I sold it. I found the pistol to be a bit abusive with Corbon ammo. Frankly, I couldn't shoot it fast and accurately. After about 5 or 6 rounds I would need to readjust my grip because the pistol would begin to rotate upward in my hand.

I guess it's a matter of ergonomics. If it fits, it's a great gun. A frind of mine has a G27 that he shoots in the little gun match at GSSF shoots and he does very well with it.

I carry either my 26 or my snubbie, depending on weather and clothing. I have a whole sack of holsters for it, and it can be carried comfortably IWB, OWB, or on the ankle. I shoot my 26 in IDPA competition, and it's plenty accurate and reliable. I do use regular pressure ammo, rather than the hot stuff I carry in my full-size glock. To me the 27's recoil exceeds the pleasure level and it results in slow follow-up shots, but many find it to be no problem. Shoot them and form your own opinion. All I've done to mine is night sights. I like the 3.5 trigger, but on a carry gun I decided to stick with the stock trigger.

I agree with Minute of Torso that the regular magazines are the best bet. Many first time shooters with the little Glocks think that they need a place for their pinkie, but once they shoot the little Glock they find it's not necessary and they shoot just as well without it.

Another happy G-26 owner here. I've only put 200 rounds through mine, but it has been perfect so far. I'm also more accurate with it than any other gun I've owned. Mine has Glock brand night sights, which are very nice for the money.

All around, hard to beat; They sometimes out shoot theyre big brothers, Ive been told this has something to do with ridgidity? Very accurate, plenty of mag cap., small, extreemly reliable, good sight's. What's not to like? Maybe a little on the thick side. They work so well theyre boring!:D

I have a Glock 33 and I love it . Be sure to get the mag extender for whatever you get so you can wrap your pinky around it. Gun is small , lightweight and highly concealable.

I've owned a couple of G33's, and they were pretty good little CCW pieces.

I do have to disagree with those who say "Get the pinky extender!", since it lengthens the grip enough that you may as well just tote the 19/23/32 instead. The butt is short for a reason, and the gun can be shot just fine by tucking your pinky under the floorplate, like you'd do on a J-frame revolver.

I owned a 33 for a decent period of time, and ran about 2000 round$ through it. I agree with Tamara that I didn't feel the need for the pinkie extender to control the sharp-jumpint .357 Sig round.

Two reasons why I let the thing go: it was so fat that concealing it was a chore (despite how small it was in other dimensions - and compounded by the fact that I bought a thick kydex holster for it) and it was so ferocious-seeming when shot that my wife refused to go near it (the .357 Sig throws the same sort of concussion wave that a magnum/supersonic handgun throws, and it gets the attention of everyone around you at the range).

I vaguely regret moving on. It was a good gun.

OTOH, the magazine capacity of the .357 Sig (9) is nothing much, and I sort of think the round is probably not a heck of a lot more effective than the 9x19. And it's expensive. Now, as for the 26, you have to remember that you'd be saddling yourself with non-fullcapacity mags (the fullcaps are 12 rounders, but you'd be buying 10s) - that would just be intolerable for me.

I have a Glock 27 . It was to be my carry pistol to end all others. Its too fat and just doesn't conceal well for me . With the 3.5# connector , it needs a secure holster which covers trigger. I have a Glock 17 since 80.s and it is reliable. I think this gun is reliable too. It is pretty accurate but nothing like a Colt Officers Model which is what I carry.

Greeting's AUTIGER04-

Yep, I bought one of the first G-27's ever too hit the big
city of Poverty, U.S.A.; while a member of a major police
force in Jefferson County, AL. All said, the G-27
was (and is) a great firearm; if you are sold on the hype
of .40 caliber weaponary? :) I owned not only the G-27,
but a G-23 and a SIGARMS P229 in .40 caliber at the same
time. Of those three, the G-27 was the top performer;
thus I used it for a CCW for a short time. The top two
loads of my choice were Cor-Bon's 165 grain JHP's and
Remington Golden Saber 180 grain JHP's.

I just never could get real comfortable with .40 caliber's;
opting for the old stand-by, .45 ACP.:uhoh: Then, if "spray
and pray" was in order; I rested the SIG-SAUER P220A,
and went to battle with a SIG-SAUER 9m/m P228.:) :D

Best Wishes,

I trust my G27 with my life on a regular basis since its my regular carry piece. The only thing i've done to it is to put trijicon night sights and that suede like grip material, i can't remember the name, agrip?. Right out of the box it consistenly malfunctioned until i had a smith polish the ramp and chamber. It never misses a beat nowadays. I use a IWB bladetech holster.

The only other problem i've had with it is its tendency to shift in my grip. a failure drill (2 to COM, 1 to head) requires me to reaquire my grip no matter how tight i grip it. It has some kick that took a little getting used to, now i don't notice it no matter what i shoot ( i carry corbon 135s). I use the standard floorplate for carry with an extended floorplate, giving me 10 rds, as a reload.

Just get several.

I have a 27 and 30. (Subcompact .45)

Awesome guns, reliable as bricks, everyone including me seems to shoot them very well.

You can do ALL cleaning and maintenance yourself.

Awesome, awesome guns.

One more thing that I always tell all Glock owners, new and experienced:

Keep your firing pin channel clean. Detail strip your slide often. It is easy and fun.

My 30 was not reliable until I stripped and cleaned the slide.

I had a 26

It was a fine weapon...very accurate and easy to shoot well.

I sold it and bought a 19...and then another 19

I second what Tamara said...if you are going to use the extenders you are better off with the larger weapon...

And a 19 is very concealable

i had a G27 w/ pink rests on the mags a year or so ago, but i just didn't like the feel. bought it for $325 and sold it for $450. i just picked up a XD9 sub-compact and i like the feel alot better than the G27.

I have the 26, and I like it a lot. It's extremely concealable, reliable, lightweight, and takes the magazines of the larger Glock 9mm's, so you can carry a 17 round backup magazine if you so choose that will work perfectly in your gun. I think it's one of the best carry guns out there.

i was looking around for a cheap G26 until i saw the XD9 sub today. bought it fro $469 and that includes the mini tac-light. i like the XD sub, but prefer full size Glocks to any of the other polymer guns. what everything comes down to is how it feels in you hands. going to the range tomorrow to try the XD out. also had a G36 which i liked, but sold to fund my 3rd gen G24 purchase :)

Great gun with great accuracy for a samll gun, and it is really reliable.

I have a G26 with pinky extender. Purchased as a replacement for the more-compact but thoroughly unreliable Kahr POS9 (which exhibited almost every possible malfunction during the time I had it) the G26 has been exceptionally reliable, and seems to have none of my G17's sensitivity to "limp wrist" syndrome. I carry it with 115 grain Speer Gold Dot +P+ ammo.

I have to disagree with prior postings about the pinky extender making the pistol less concealable. The one I have (by Pearce) only extends the front of the grip. With a normal IWB holster this does nothing whatsoever to impair concealability, as the back of the butt - that part that will cause a bulge under your shirt - is unaffected.

Oh yeah...get a pinky extender.

It really makes a huge difference increasing your comfort and control.

And no, it does not affect concealability at all.

I have or have had a Glock 27 and Glock 33. They were both nice guns but I just bought a Kahr PM9 and neither can compare to this gun as far as concealability. Have only put 200 rounds through it but has been one hundred percent so far. Just giving you another option if you are not dead set on going with the Glock. I am not trying to bash Glock's. They are good guns. I just think that I have found a better one in the ultra concealable PM9

The Kahrs are great guns (I'm buying one for my wife tomorrow), but I prefer the Glock subcompacts. The extreme resistance to corrosion (I live in GA, where it is hot and sweaty 9 months out of the year), and the ability to take the larger Glock mags really tears it for me. I don't expect to be needing 28 rounds, but it's nice to know that they are there :).

My wife has small hands, and thusly, is much more comfortable with a thinner gun.

AUTIGER04
September 29, 2003, 09:58 PM
Orcale, What model Glock do you have? I really havent decide which model that I want. Its going to be the 19, 26 or 27. Will the 40cal Minis accept the High Cap Magazines?

Oracle
September 29, 2003, 10:33 PM
All Glocks accept the higher capacity magazines for the same caliber pistol. Thusly, all subcompact .40 S&W Glocks accept the higher capacity .40 S&W mags, all 9mm Glocks accept the higher capacity 9mm mags, you get the picture.

I have a Glock 26 and a Glock 17. See how the 19 fits in your hands, it doesn't fit in my hands nearly as well as the 26 or 17, but that's just a "me" thing. Many people consider the Glock 19 to be a near-perfect defensive gun, it is big enough to be easy to use, and small enough to be easy to conceal; and it carries a reasonable amount of ammo (15 rounds with standard capacity magazines).

I prefer the 9mm cartridge in the Glocks, but that, again, is personal preference, I think that the performance gain from 9mm to .40 S&W is marginal, and 9mm is much cheaper to practice with. More practice = more effective use of your handgun.

Also, if you like the Glock 19, you may want to check out some of the used or factory refurbished models. You can save sometimes as much as $100, and sometimes they come with a standard capacity mag or two. Kentucky Imports is a good place to start looking, as are your local gun shops.

AUTIGER04:

Remember in the Indiana Jones film where he finds the Holy Grail and the knight says "You have chosen wisely"?

Well, you have... :)

The ONLY problem with Glocks is they're reliable to the point of boredom.

Which makes them addicting... :)

Ok, so maybe that's two problems.... :)

I like the G19 but it and the G23 and G32 all have a little smaller finger groove (the first one below the trigger guard) than the mini Glocks and the large Glocks. So, you should try the different Glocks and see which fits your hand best. If you can, rent them and see which you shoot best.

The can buy a drop in Glock barrel to switch a G27 to shoot .357SIG and a .40 S&W barrel to fit a G33.

Get night sights for which ever Glock you buy. You will be glad you spent the money on the night sights.

Good luck,
Rich

Glock 27 in a black Rafter S shark skin holster and matching shark skin belt. My CCW when I have to/must/get dragged downtown for some absurd reason. Recoil~not bad. Wife loves to shoot my G27. I own only one mag with the Pearce "non-plus one" extention...don't use it much. Like my G27 very much. Easy to clean. 5 minutes, tops.

My G26 is with me everytime I go out. I love it. Never had a malfunction and it is as accurate as my 19 or 17. Don't have any experience with G27s. I see them from time to time used (never a G26). I think novices buy these think and either the recoil is too brisk for them or they simply can't get on paper for a variety of reasons.
