That gun has nothing to do with the 49. It's a DA/SA with a hammer, it's a compact and has a safety. The 49 is a striker DAO.
I think it's nice looking. Haven't heard of anything but press releases so far.

Wildalaska,
Why not just call it a Glock? Or a 1911 with a plastic frame? Or a SW revolver with a slide and magazine.
If we're talking about two guns whose parts could have only magazine and barrel in common, isn't it worth differentiating?

Only big difference is that a SigPro looks good. What an ugly duckling. I wish they would bring back the BDM

Get a Clue FN! If you want me to buy this fine, I will. Just as soon as you make it accept BHP mags. Why is that anyway? Everybody and their brother makes rifles that take M-16 mags, but pistol makers don't get the clue?

Really? I thought this pistol this pistol had a niced balanced look, more reminiscent of the Witness compact.
The Sig Pro seems so clumsy, with its sloping trigger guard, immensely long slide release and ugly triangular mag release. The Pro reminds me of the Daewoo in style (or lack there of).

There are a lot more common parts that that I daresay...

Yep...the mag release, recoil spring...sights are different...thats about it.
A trad. d/a gun vs a striker fired gun have very little parts that interchange.....no mainspring dictates different frame..striker dictates a different slide...trigger parts = different frame...etc.
I think it looks good...Id just like to play with one in person.
It does have Witness traits....P99 backstrap...kind of a mix.
Too bad its a decocker......
Shoot well
