Depends on what caliber you are shooting for. If its for muzzle loader the most important thing is getting a bore sighter that closely matches the bore of you gun. If you are shooting center fire. the best type of bore sighters are the ones cabelas sells. that are specific for the caliber. As what they have is a shell that is made into a bore sighter. So you turn on the bore sighter then load it in your gun like a normal round so the laser is going straight out from the breech. The same way a bullet would travel down the bore. Avoid the cheap ones and the universal cheap ones as i have found that the laser usually is not centered all the way. Now remember a bore sighter is just to get you on paper. A good way of setting up a bore sighter is by using something that will lock down the gun. Set up a target in your back yard and sight in the gun iron sights. locking down the gun. Then set up the boresighter verifying that the laser is pointing to around the area of the iron sight. Then mount the scope and adjust it to wear it is exact to the laser. Its a good idea to do this at increaments like doing it at 25 yards. then with the scope on set the target to 50 yards. then if you have the room 75 or 100 yards. then take it to the range. use sand bags of some kind to keep the gun steady and shoot a round at around 50 yards then adjust the scope to it. then increase to 75 then 100 yards doing the same thing. it will take some time a good pair of binoculars or a spotting scope are your best freind.

What happens when you don't remove the boresighter (http://www.darylsguns.com/besafe.htm)

Of course, that might be a lot harder to do with a frontstuffer than those new fangled cartridge thingies. Just another reason they will never catch on, amiright?

Scrat, i was looking at the second one you posted.

i'm just not sure if the red laser is as good as the green laser.
