Hi,
Is it just me or has Georgia Arms changed the specs on their NATO 124gr
ammo? I recall it being 1200fps,now it's 1150.Wonder why?
Thanks,
John

It's not just you. I have a can of 500 rds I bought from GA Arms a while back and it's 1200 fps according to the label.

Maybe it was downgraded out of concerns about liability?

Hey guys, mail me ten rounds of each and I'll chrono them both for you. :D

That's actually not a bad idea. They might have downgraded it simply because they started chronoing them and they were chronoing slower than they thought.

I would call and ask them.
I called about the chrono data for their "Canned Heat" .223 ammo.
They told me it was shot out of a long barrel.
(I think they said 24", but not sure.)
They may have started doing test shooting from a smaller gun,
thus the slower chrono reading.
Or, they could be loading a little lighter, to save some $$.

If you are concerned about fps, you can order M882 from Natchez (http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-7002&category=iCatDEFG&maxhits=20&keywords=afa14). It is about the same price as the ammunition from Georgia Arms.
