It was a cool breezy night. The natives had all returned to their rooms and were sleeping soundly. Suddenly Kubi the family hunting dog started into his unique baying signal. Their was a crashing in the garage and then only the sounds of a standoff.

Tori a wise and strong hunter came to me with her bush battered old daisy .177 and told me she thought that Kubi may have caught something in the garage. Throwing on a pair of pink bunny slippers I followed the wise young hunter into the tall carpet and out through mopane region of the kitchen into the garage.

I was unprepared for what I was to witness. Abruptly I threw the light switch. And was greeted with Kubi's stubby tail sticking out of the trash can which holds his dog food the lid had been ripped off in the previous struggle.

I told Tori to get ready as we can never tell what may be in the trash can. As I pulled the dog out of the can by his tail I remember hearing the bolt slide shut with a klunk as Tori chambered a B.B. in the reliable old daisy.

When the dog cleared I was meet by a pair of red, angry, confused eyes. His nose twitched and I knew he was about to charge. I vaugely remenber being shoved out of the way just as he lept from the pile of dry dog food. I heard the B.B. slam into his chest and the the bolt being cycled then another B.B. slamed into him and slumped to the bottom of the can releasing a death below with his last breath.

The dog food killer of Elbert county had stolen his last piece of dog food.
Tori's Mother a wise and OLD woman of the village (Who's been to Vet school) made tori wear a latex glove for the photo.:D

Are you going to have that mounted?

And that was a damned dangerous stunt being in front of the shooter when the affair climaxed! You should have been a few yards to one side, and carrying a back-up weapon! That thing could have been in the rut and you'd have found it humping your pink fuzzy bunny slippers before you could say "Robert Ruark"!

Does her dollhouse need a new rug?

Hey, I might want a dollhouse again, if I could have a cool rug like that for in front of its fireplace...

A full body mount is the order of the day for a trophy like that. I'd have it done with the blighter posed as if he was about to charge.

When I was a kid, my buddy had a double barrel BB gun that made me sooo jealous! It was actually quite well regulated and you could put two bb's into a starling at 20 yards or so.

I don't remember what make it was - anybody know? If they still make them, it would make a great Christmas present for your daughter. You never know when she'll need that extra barrel to stop a rogue rodent...

Daisy used to make a Model 104 double barreled BB gun. Here's a link:

http://www.prices4antiques.com/itemsummary/34468.htm

I've seen them for sale to collectors ranging from $875.00 to $1100.00. That's one expensive BB gun.

This would have been in the late 60's, so not the model 104.

I just googled this up: http://www.bbairguns.com/Chronology/DaisyGuns/model_21.htm

I think this must be it.

You should be arrested for child endangerment. Allowing your daughter to go up against a monster like that with only a B.B. gun? You need a .338 Win. Mag. minimum

Natedog,

You're right sir!!

And with that in mind we decided to let the child have a little power upgrade. For safety purposes of course.

After a family meeting momma and I decided that you just can't have to much gun when facing such adverse and dangerous foes. So we went down to the local Wal-Mart and got her an appropraite D.G. rifle.

Tell me what you think!!

I think you and mom are blessed with such a cutie. Daughter is blessed to have parents like you two. Momma has got to be the MOST understanding person! I also think daughter looks better in the hat than daddy;) .

I'm available for adoption, don't usually frequent WM...but if adopted by parents like you two...I could manage to go to WM...I'd even consider wearing pink bunny slippers...if that's the kind of shopping my "parents" would do for me.:D

OK, now we expect a report with pics on that girl and new gun sir...err...suggest somewhere besides the garage...:D

Thanks 1973,

Tori has already been to Africa with me, last March for a month. She helped me blood trail a Blue "Woundedbeast" for several hours. She and momma went riding with one of the ranch hands on horseback and I found out later that they accidently got into a herd of elephants and had to sneak away.

Her mother is quite understanding she lived with me in Northern Ak she's been to South Africa on live capture teams. We spent our first aniversary in a pup tent hunting Antelope.

She's scheduled to be part of an American team on a veternairy live capture in Kruger national park Next October for elephant and rhino. And I'm sure that Tori and our younger daughter Bailee will be there as well.

You and yours sound truly blessed. Always had an itch to travel and do, must have been all that Ruark I read. I appreciate your sharing of adventure and pics. When you decide to write a book, be sure to advise when completed.

Best to you and yours.
