If anyone is interested in reading the full story this is the link, www.illinoisleader.com you can find it there. This is what I have read and was wondering if anyone else has heard of this. I have no doubt that Blago has the White House in his future, he is really trying to be all things to all people although I am not buying it. 'Just last month, the Governor made a significant move to attract those living in the rural Downstate Democratic counties that elected President George Bush in 2000. Blagojevich announced that the state will spend $1.8 million to buy 1,179 acres for constructing a "World Shooting Complex." This from a governor whose candidacy was supported by the most radical gun control zealots in the nation. The anti-gunners talked of Blagojevich as being their best hope in 2002 and a potential candidate for President.' I am sure that if this true Daley is doing this:banghead: right about now. I think that maybe Blago is trying not to alienate gun owners because he knows that they are a powerful force at the voting booth.

If he thinks a 1.8 million shooting complex will somehow buy the love of downstate voters he's crazy. The rest of Blago's policies are ravaging the economy here. The minimum wage increase will hurt an area where the majority of middle class jobs are in the public sector. It will only be another reason for business not to locate in Illinois. The elimination of tax breaks to the trucking indusrty have already cost Salem one truck terminal with about 50 jobs. A partially completed prison sits over by the Wabash near Carmi. Petitions to lower workmans comp costs are circulating around here. Many people are starting to wake up and realize that the government is the biggest reason Southern Illinois is turning into Appalachia.
