If you have any nighttime gun photography, post it here!

Pictures below are from yesterday's IDPA shoot in Turlock, hosted by the MidValley Shooters. Camera was Canon S230 with 10-13 second exposures - used a highpower sitting position for most strings - next year I will bring my tripod, though I was very happy with the results.

Neat pics.

I was shooting my M1 carbine at night and didn't notice much muzzle flash.

Does milsurp ammo have agents that reduce it?

Maybe I'll bring the camera next time and seee if it picks it up.

Shorter the barrel, the brighter the flash. I believe some military powders do contain anti-flash components.

Powder and ammo definitely made a big difference... the blue-lit photos at the top were amazing to behold in person - handloads using Winchester 231 making a big fireball. My S&B (230 gr., 45 ACP) was very low flash.

A silencer will take care of that muzzle flash.

Following Sven's suggestion ... I am posting my Saturday's range visit muzzle flash pics on here. I'm including the .44 mag pics even tho tho they are modest compared with the .454. Still good flame pattern.

These are on one of my servers and should be accessible for ages.

.44 mag running on 2400 ......
