Jericho vs Baby Eagle...

Yesterday morning (early) I was watching the History Channel's "Tales of The Gun" and at some bodyguard training school the students were using the "Baby Eagle" in 9MM. Looked like a pretty good shooter too! The guy who as doing the talking said that the Baby Eagle is the same pistol as the "Jericho". Later that day, I went to a gunshow where a vender had both blue and hard chrome Jerochos and blue Baby Eagles. Even though BOTH guns are manufactured in Israel, they definitely are not the same. They look alike, but the Baby Eagle has more features and is also slightly wider. I was tempted by these pistols. Especially the hard chrome Jericho. It was slightly under $400.00 and the Baby Eagle was about $450.00. Anyone own one (or more) of these models? Either type. Are you happy with it?

Thanks,
KR

Jericho has many models only a few of which have been imported as the Baby Eagle and the Uzi Eagle. Most likely the Jerichos you saw were a lower margin model that Magnum Research didn't feel like importing and someone else picked up, and saved the cost of having custom markings ;)

I'm not familiar with all the models but I know they've made quite a few.

It's good to hear that about the Baby Eagles. They go largely unsung around here, and I really don't know why. They seem like decent pistols, even though I have never handled one.

Let us know if you do get any of the above, though. I'd love to hear a report on one. ;)

Both are made by Tanfoglio in Italy...at the least the frame castings and raw forgings for the slides. Then they go off to Israel to get finished...alot of the parts/mags are Tan. also. Honestly they are a great little CZ knock off...I wont use the word clone at the Beagles have the slide mounted decockers...some Jericho models are true clones mechanically with the frame mounted safety.
I love the full length dust cover...very meaty looking...like a small CZ97 or a Les Baer Commanche on a budget.
Either gun should run forever and do you a good job......
Id highly consider either one of them............in hard chrome especially.
Shoot well

I had a Baby Eagle that was very reliable and accurate. I hated to do it, but I used it as trade in fodder when a Gold Cup came along that I had to have.
