Shotgun pictures!

There are a lot more pictures threads in Rifles and Handguns than there are here, and that's not fair.
Let's see your shotgun pictures!
I, unfortunately, don't have a picture available of either of my shotguns (the Boomstick and the Norinco 98), but don't let my failure in this area discourage you! :)

Because, once upon a time, those things were the bleeding edge of high tech for a shotgun.
Then better corrective lens technology was developed and folks were able to see what they looked like for the first time... :uhoh:
(If I had a dollar for every time I've wept over a beautiful old shotgun disfigured by a "pine cone" on the end of the barrel... :( )

Zebulon, you can drag the pic right off the screen. Add a color background to your screen and whallah...a wallpaper. :D
The heatshield was purchased from "cheaper than dirt", no brand name. The sling is from "Uncle Mikes".

October 10, 2003, 03:50 PM
It is. The recoil pulse is very manageable at rock-n-roll speeds, too. Using that shotgun in USPSA 3-gun is enough to jump my performance from 65% to 95%. Makes a B-shooter beat most, if not all, of the Grandmasters on everything except load-one-shoot-one :)

Bought it after it was reclassed. Thank goodness for the '94 AWB...that law left a loophole for LE to buy such a item. The lawyers are trying to figure out what to do after (if) the ban expires, though.

I have been learning (gracious description) to camo a gun.
Tried the Krylon camo paint and got this result.
This thing was a true police arsenal beater, carried a lot but very fresh on the inside. It was in the original 1975 config when I picked it up about a month ago.
Got a choked barrel on the way.

It's the factory Remington kit for the USMC variant of the Remington 870, known as the Mark I. Pics on the web of Marine boarding parties will show the 870 Mark I every now and then. Sometimes the Remington boxed kits are out there to purchase, and will even show up on e-Bay.
Inside the box, you'll find the extended magazine tube, mag spring, lower mag tube bracket/bayonet lug/sling swivel, upper barrel bracket, and the three bolts that keep it all together. If you have a smoothbore 20" deer barrel with rifle sights, you have to mill a slot in the upper barrel bracket for the front sight ramp - the bracket comes with a gold bead as standard equipment otherwise. ;)

October 20, 2003, 12:12 PM
I figured it was part of a military upgrade package. You just don't see too many military shotguns, mostly the Mossbergs and the new Benelli's when you do. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. That looks a whole lot sturdier than the little barrel/mag clamps everyone else markets!

Thanx Duke, but I can't take credit for it. I can only take credit for part of the inspiration. I found the gun at a local shop with the barrel, reciever and tube already painted. After I bought it, I sent the furniture to Bob Lumpkin of www.nouglyguns.com for the desert paint job. As you can see, he does great work, and I wholeheartedly recommend him for any of your camo needs.

Just a couple I own
Mossberg 835 12 guage. A good shooter. With a modified choke it knocks the bunnies and birds down good. Cant wait to slip in the extra full and some 3 1/2" for turkey season.
Sloans SG & Sons 10 guage dbl barrel. It was given to my by my stepfather. He used it for ducks and geese back in the mid 70's. I promised that I wouldnt get rid of it. Plan on getting it reblued, new wood and put in a showcase for him.
Winchester 1400 with a 26' vent rib barrel. Also have a smooth bore 24 inch rifle sight barrel for it.
