Anybody carry without a holster?

I noticed tonight that my Eagle fits perfectly into my jacket pocket and totaly disapears from the outside. I think hammer down ,safety on it would be very safe, but I wouldn't really be comfortable unless I carried condition 3. Anybody carry in just a pocket or stuck in the belt or waistband, if so do you have one in pipe?

I have a couple of autos that are very comfortable and fairly secure just tucked into the waistband (with a good belt) but it isn't secure carry - just an accident waiting to happen. The ONLY time I kept a gun in a pocket (big, bulky car coat) it got fouled in the seatbelt and dumped on a garage floor. Bingo, new rear sight and grips. Holsters are mandatory, IMO

- - In years past, and occasionally now.

For years, I carried a Commander in my waistband, back of the point of my right hip, usually with butt to the front. I usually had a wide rubber band wrapped around the grip area, below the grip safety. Sometimes did the same with a PPK or 1908 Colt .380. I quit this mode of carry for all-day use, not for safety reasons, but because I developed a nerve problem, with the leg starting to go numb while driving long distances. I still do it just to run to the store in the evening.

In cold weather, with outer garments fastened, I frequently drop a small automatic or snub .38 in side pocket of an insulated vest or coat, to supplement the holstered .45.

I make sure not to carry anything in same pocket with the pistol. Any firearm carried in this manner needs to be inspected frequently, to prevent lint and debris buildup.

I wear a T shirt and tucked oxford shirt, good 1 1/2 " Eddie Baur leather belt. 11 o'clock, b/t the shirts I can access real easy , especially when driving and one button undone. Just kinda "blouse" the oxford shirt. P-11, Pro Carry, J frame...

Usually do this when in the course of the day I may to leave the firearm in vehicle on one or two of my errands. But I wore it this way all day the last two days.

1911's in waistband with cover garment. Smaller stuff...well ya never know where I might have one...

A few times but I don't make a habit of it.

It was always with a pair of pants that was to tight in the waist and I was just going out for a while so I put the saftey on my Steyr and stuffed in behind my hip.

Sometimes I use a OSS type loop made from paracord. But I only really use that if I'm taking out the trash or something.

Occassionally, I will carry my S&W 649 without a holster, either in a pocket or stuck in the waistband at SOB.

Ever since a friend of mine had an accidental discharge, I haven't

I drop my pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 60 .357 magnum in both trousers and jacket pockets all the time, especially when I'm working in the yard or running quick errands.

In my experience carrying a Beretta 92 IWB strong side with a belt, but without a holster is pretty easy and tends to stay in place well enough. Some guns I would consider it "an accident waiting to happen" but not so much with the Beretta with the safety on even though I didn't carry it chambered that way anyways. I'd rather use a holster though.

It is illegal in Georgia to carry a handgun without a holster.

I use a holster 99% of the time after watching a guy drop his ruger 9mm on the floor getting out of a booth at the local denny's.

K frame S&W in front trouser pocket. Collects lint and is hard to draw with seatbelt in place; difficult when seated. Very secure from drops.

1911 (usually LW Commander) in waistband, rear of right hip. It is difficult to draw when seated. Mode of carry is cocked and locked; no discharges or losses in 30 plus years.

Then again, I'm an old guy and we didn't know it was dangerous. So it wasn't.

I use to carry my P32 in my right front pocket until I put a belt-clip on it. Now I carry it clipped on my belt at 4 o'clock.
