I have a Ponsness Warren 375 shotshell reloader. Does anyone know of any informational videos that cover this press?
Anyone in the North Texas area own one?
Thanks.

Cochise 9424221:
I ran across this thread while trying to find someone with knowledge of the PW 375 duomatic shotshell press. I purchased one today and to my dismay I discovered that I can't figure how to effectively set this up and operate it. I am a metallic cartridge loader and haven't loaded shotshells for years. I see that you have a manual. Could I offer to purchase a copy from you or can you direct me to a place on line that I can download one. I would be much obliged to you. Thanks.

And that's the only way to get one... I know, I tried.

The dies are held into the tooling head by allen screws. How far down the protrude (and thus how much they work the hull) is controlled by the threaded rod that the die body rides on.

On mine, the pre-crimp was the most critical one to get right. I ate a bunch of hulls before I dialed it in. Then I adjusted the final crimp die for the right amount of "setback" (how far below the lip the star crimps). The taper is set along with the final crimp.

Primer seating is by feel, and I've not been able to overdo it.

To drain powder and shot from the hoppers, loosen the locknut on top and remove the allen bolts. Do not lift the tooling head, or you'll dump full hoppers of powder and shot all over your bench. Rotate it until the hopper you want to drain is over the drop tube. Have something under the drop tube.

Once you've got it set up, you'll find it to be a great press. I love mine.

In fact, I like it (and the semi-progressive loading sequence) enough that I'm considering a P/W metallic instead of a more normal turret press when the time comes to upgrade my metallic stuff.

Shannon:
Thanks for the web site. I have noted it and I will order one. Seems like a fine press. I have known of them for many years but never loaded shotgun much. I shot some trap the other day and throughly embarassed myself. So gotta do something to improve my game. I was at the local gun store yesterday and in walked the PW 375 press along with some metallic reloading stuff. After the guy left, the owner said I'll sell that worth the money. I said how much..He said $30..and as they say the rest is history. So I think I'll have a go at it. Thanks again.
