Please let me know if I need a SPECIAL Speedloader for a 1957 Colt AGENT.
I have read some things about grips,modifications,models,etc..
I will be the first to admit that I am in a learning process. Thanks All.

Any HKS speeloader for a "D" frame Colt will work just fine. This is assuming you don't have over sized target grips that will interfere.
If you have the factory compact panels you should be fine. If you have oversize stocks look for Bianchi Speed Strips (7 Bucks for 2), a little slower but work great with practice. Remember, standard pressure ammo only, no +P. They are great carry revolvers and very very accurate.

The HKS will be listed primarily for the "Detective Special" model, which is basically the same as your Agent. The loader will be marked "DS" or "DS-A" on the knob. I sand down the left grip to make clearance for the loader when necessary.

i think a better speedloader is the Safariland Comp I or II. they stablise the rounds better (less wiggle) and release more surely (no twisting involved)

the S&W K-frame speedloaders fit the Colt D-frame

Why no Plus Pee?

That gun should be strong enough for it, as long as it's not a steady diet.

Because prior to the heavy barrel Colt's starting in 1972, Colt specifically said NO +P ammo.
Since there are no replacement frames available, you can't get one replaced these days if you over-stress it.

Hmmm....I'd get a second opinion from somebody other than Colt.

As long as it's just used for combat engagements.....most people wouldn't wear it out, I'll bet.

Although I do not shoot +p ever, @ the range, I do load @ home with this variance. I shoot this pistol at least 2 x a week, & sometimes more. My 15 yr. old son loves this gun. personally, I am not sure that I will ever find a better carry weapon,EVER!. Not to mention the fact, that it is my Grandfathers genuine issue revolver, from many, many years ago.

An HKS speedloader for a Smith 6-shot K-frame works pretty well on Colt D-frames.

I have to agree with dfariswheel on this one. You like the gun, son loves it, keep it forever, watch the pressure. Alloys in 1957 are not the same alloys that we have today, weaker. Also, no point loading with a round you have not practiced with INMHO. Carry it with what you shoot regularly. An accurate shot will far outweigh any slight ballistic advantage of +P. Try to find some Federal 125 grain Nyclad (rare but can be found) or the Hydrashock 110 Grain HP. Both are good bullet designs but loaded to standard pressures. If you cannot find them standard pressure 158 SWC will work fine, it's what the gun was designed for and it is what the sights are regulated for. BTW, my Dad has the same gun you have, year and all, had it since new. Finish is worn but it is tight as a, well, its just tight. If I wasn't limited to what I can carry I would gladly strap one on.
