I'm finding some alleged information that the SIG P229 is stronger (beefed up slide) than the SIG P226?
Please tell me more about this.

the SIG229 is a stronger and beefed up slide from the P228 9mm Pistol.

I have a P229 in .40 and an older P226 in 9mm with the formed (not machined) slide. The P229 clearly has a "beefier" slide with thicker steel. I understand that the P229 was designed for the .40 S&W cartridge and the slide was designed to be heavier, providing more mass to handle the recoil of this caliber better. The P229 slide is machined from a block of stainless steel.
