I live in CA and my hunting activities have been greatly curtailed by the lead ammo ban in my hunting areas. I have perfectly good .17HMR and 17HM2 rifles I can't use. I can hunt eddible small game with lead rimfire, but can't shoot varmints with lead. To my knowledge, the 22wmr is the only rimfire made in non-lead.

So, I'm looking for a good .22wmr rifle. I'm looking at the Savage 93FVSS bolt gun. Will probably put V16 or V24 Weaver glass on it and use it for small varmints and the occasional yote. I like the Accutrigger, stainless and synthetic stock. I'm tired of buying rifles I have to do trigger jobs to make them shootable. Any opinions on this rifle?

Other suggestions considering my use and lead problems?

Marlin 925-M, when I got mine, they were $179 at Dick's, 2 years ago. I can shoot 3/4" groups at 100 yards, if I really concentrate. Its a great rifle.
