Did everyone in the world just buy a Judge? I have been searching hi and lo and it seems EVERYONE is out of 000 Buck Shot in 2.5.:banghead: I bought mine 2 weeks ago and finally shot it this past weekend, SWEEEEEEEET. :D
Too sweet, now I'm out of 000!!! I've checked Cabelas, Cheaper Than Dirt, Sportsmansguide, Midwayusa, a host of other online sites and 2 local shops and nothing.:fire:
Oh well, i guess I'm just going to have to shoot the .45 Colt for now. Any one else having trouble finding ammo?

I bought the last 8 boxes of 2 1/2 inch buck shot for mine also.
The 45 Colts shoot great in mine as well as the 2 1/2 inch slugs.

My local Cabela's and Gander Mountain have it in stock. Maybe the ones near you do too. (if you are near either)

My local dealers have said the Judge is a HUGE seller. He siad they get about three in at a time and that lasts a week.

NO!
Do NOT buy the S&B rounds for use in the Judge. They have a slight lip at the tip where they are roll crimped and WILL NOT CHAMBER. And if you DO manage to get them in there, they won't eject after firing. (Psst ... anybody want 45 rounds of S&B 000 buck in .410?)
Stick to the Winchester rounds.

The smooth Winchester rounds seem to work the best in the 410 shells. The ribbed shells are a little harder to extract.

The shops around here are out of .410 buck, as well.
I have seen a few Judges on the shelves, though. Maybe the demand in this area is lessening due to market saturation...?

lol, I had the EXACT same problem. Bought the gun around Thanksgiving and could NOT - for the life of me - find any 2 and a half inch 410 000 buckshot.
Drove me nuts for awhile, then I just accepted it. Right before Christmas, though, I was buying some 9mm at a local Walmart and decided to ask the stupid question as to whether they had the 410 rounds I wanted.
To my utter shock, they had just gotten some in. So I bought him out and the NEXT poor Judge owner that asked him had to be frustrated.
So, right now, I'm sitting on about 50 shells of 2.5 inch 410 000 buckshot. And I'm feeling dang pleased with myself.
Since then, I've noticed that ammunitiontogo had some, so I'm expecting another box of 25 to come in any day now.

Ah, that may explain why they're the only rounds like that I can find on line. Oh well, I guess I'll find out myself soon, since I ordered a box of 25 rounds a week or two ago and, apparently, they've shipped.

The other one you want to avoid are those "golden bear" all metallic ones. They chamber fine, but swell when you fire and won't extract.

FWIW, there was never a huge supply of .410 000 in my area even before the Judge came out.

i dont think its just the .410 seems to me anything that chambers in any form of handgun has become scarce i took a look at a bunch of ammo suppliers online and most all of there inventories say out of stock on top of that gander mountain dicks and even walmart are running with empty shelves i resorted to going to local gun shops and found some ammo but the mark up on it was so high i didnt even bother its bad when a box of ammo goes from 5 bux in walmart to almost 15 at a local mom n pop gun shop

Yes most gun shops are running low on handgun ammo. Maybe it is the start of the high ammo prices.
Also, a lot of people are stock piling ammo.

I live in South Jersey so unfortunately no Cabelas OR any Walmarts that sell ammo. I have to treck it about 45 min into PA to "check" if they have it in stock as calling them for info is as accurate as looking into a crystal ball.
Thanks for the info guys, ill make sure to steer clear of the S&B's. In the meantime, I'll keep looking and waiting.

PcolaDawg, buying them out like that is just a total lack of consideration for fellow shooters. I cant stand folks like you. Hopefully, no one here follows your poor example.
shh...I'm going to PA this weekend and buying out every Walmart within a 15 mile radius,:D:neener::D

So how do you like shooting minute of Judge?
What kind of accuracy do you get with 000 out of a Judge?

I haven't tested it too far out. But I can hit center mass with all three slugs at 25 feet, and that's plenty good enough for what I want it for.
Sometimes the slugs will spread out a good bit, but most of the time they stay close together and put an amazingly large hole in what I'm shooting at. Even when they spread apart, they all hit the target quite well at 25 feet.

That is pretty much my experience as well with 000 buck. #4 shot is about the same, pattern size wise.
Slugs, IMHO, are kind of pointless; if you are going to throw a single projectile might as well make it a nice 45 Colt hollowpoint at 230+grains rather than a 95 grain 410 slug.
Accuracy with 45 Colt isn't trophy winning ... but SD acceptable. The first 5 rounds I shot of 45 Colt I did at a steel plate machine at 15 yards. 5 rounds, 5 plates down. Good enough to get the job done.

Sorry, I didn't know the SB was bad juju for the Judge.

Hey, you didn't know. They would probably be fine in a shotgun, but they don't work in the Judge AT ALL.
