A year ago I went to a gun show and a fellow had a mint Browning Fusion Gold for sale for $500, which is about $450 under book price. I had been shooting skeet and trap with an older Model 1100, but it was on loan and I had to give it back.

I liked the heft of the Browning, and I'm fond of Browning shotguns in general.

I took the gun out and shot some trap with it. I don't like it. I'm too used to that Remington Model 1100, I guess.

However I'm going to keep the Fusion Gold and try to learn to us it.

Anyone out there have one? What do you think about it?

Thanks

I don't like it.

For what reason? For example I had an 11-87 and changed to a Beretta A390. It took me a while to get used to the different operation. Even now, over a year later and 1000+ rounds through the Beretta I still occasionally find myself trying to hit the bolt latch at the Remington's location.

Does it not fit? etc. Why don't you like it?

I have a friend that has one, and I have shot it. I thought it was a nice shotgun, but I have had the luxury of getting to shoot lots of different shotguns, so the differences don't seem so important anymore.

By all reports, the Browning is a great classic shotgun that is super reliable.

I have a Gold Fusion. I love it. It's light, has excellent wood, a superb finish, a rifle-like trigger break, and even came with a nice case. Has a great fiber-optic front bead, also.

What's not to like?

I didn't like it because it didn't "feel" right. I'm sure it's because I shot that Remington 1100 for several years and did pretty well with it.

My Fusion Gold has nice wood too and it came with that case also. I liked the gun until I shot it, but I'm sure that I can get used to it after a bit.

BTW: on my first outing one of those front sight inserts popped out and I lost it, however; I had several others in the case, and replaced it.

The gun is light. It can also handle steel shot, however I won't shoot it through the full choke. I'm sure after a bit I'll learn to like it.
