IPSC Gun Belt

O.k. Next question!
I have a Wilderness CSM belt, but I would really like to switch to a two-belt system so everything stays on the belt and goes on and off easily.
Anyone using such a belt? The Safariland Levitation system and the CR Speed "High Torque" belt seem to fit the bill.
Any advice or recomendations would be appreciated!

I still use my Instructor belt, but I see a lot of people around here with the CR setup.

I use a blackhawk duty belt, with high speed gear high speed low drag suspenders. it's nice having all of your pouches in the same place every time you go to shoot.

The new CR speed belt system works real well, real stiff holds holster and pouches without flexing. A neat little feature is the velcro is inverted from most others and doesn't drag on belt loops or hook you to your car seat. Price is right too.

The CR Speed belts look awfully thick. Will non-race-type stuff, like Uncle Mike's and Blade-Tech gear, fit on them?

make sure you have a buckle on it, as the just velcro belts fall off when moving around and crawling under obstacles and you get dq'd for dropping your gun.

I've never seen or heard of the velcro loosening and the belt falling off, have you ever tried to pull off about 40 inche long and 2" wide velcro side ways? It's not easy. Also if your running a COF the gun will be in your hands not in the holster, and per IPSC rules the holster is supposed to pass a drop test. Most competitors, if shooting open or limited will have the velcro overlap behind them so the mag pouches will be aligned across the front, production shooters may overlap on the front because by rule the euipment must be behind the hip.

Did I miss something? I thought that the belt had to be held by at least three loops on your pants/shorts.

KP,
It is my understanding that the belt loop requirement is met by virtue of the underbelt being looped through your belt loops.
The outerbelt is then securely attached to the underbelt by velcro.

DDGator,
Thanks. I will double check at the OK State Championship this Sat. My first IPSC Championship match. The eldest son won his class/division last year here. He is, sadly, sandbagging and I will shoot against him this week. Oh well.

5.3.4 The belt carrying the holster and all allied equipment shall be at waist level. Either the belt or the inner belt or both must be permanently fixed at the waist with a minimum of three belt loops.

Nice work Ankeny.
I sure don't want my gunbelt "permanently affixed" to my waist though. That seems like a pretty harsh requirement! :)

I've seen it happen more than once this last year at the swat match alone.
buckles are dandy.
