Ah, that explains it.

Never, ever take the word of a gun shop (or Bass Pro) clerk for gospel. Most times, they're talkin' out of you-know-where.

A quick google search shows firsthand reports of BP gun rooms being closed. The first 2 hits were about PA and NV.

Oh well, I wasn't shopping there anyway. We have real gun stores.

Fine gun room was closed on Sunday in LV at BP. Gun repair window was open and active. Regular gun counter was busy and things were selling when I stopped by when buying some camping gear.
