What's the skinny on plated wadcutters for .38 target loads

Just curious as to what ya'lls thoughts are on these. How accurate are they compared to lead, ease of loading, or anything else I should know?
Also I notice that with berrys you have a choice of DEWC and HBWC. Which would you choose and why for a customized S&W k38

I shoot the Berry's HBWC bullets and they work just fine. About as accurate as most HBWC lead bullets, but without the leading.
Hope this helps.

I use the DEWC from Berrys in this

And they are way better to me as you do not get the leading and very easy to clean. Couple of soaked patches of hoppes 9, bore brush, wet kroil patches let sit for 15 minutes then dry patches.
I only go through this routine because I am a clean freak. I love revolvers but hate a black cylinder face on stainless and get it looking new after every trip to the range :)

I have shot the Berrys and Ranier 148 Gr DEWC's. Both shoot very well. My Model 14 loves them both. I have not tried the Berrys HBWC yet, but it is on my "to do" list.
Small charges of 700X, American Select, Clays, etc. (and Bullseye, of course)

Thanks for the replies, Hopefully I'll have the luck you guys are having with these because I just ordered 1K of the DEWC's from grafs for $88, I had intended to buy the HBWC's but they sold out right before placing my order.:banghead:
Here's what I'll be launching them with

You don't. The mechanism isn't simply a bobbed hammer there's literally no SA sear notch
But it's not too bad the DA only kit used in this revolver has a very very short pull and low weight. So low in fact that WIN and FED primers are required in order not to misfire. I'm just getting started into handgunning for accuracy and by all accounts am a novice but even so on my third 10rd string I fired a 4" group at 25yds which I'm ecstatic about myself
Someone built this gun for PPC competition, I don't compete myself but rather I traded for his gun as a curiosity. But it doesn't mean it can't enjoy a graceful retirement in much the same way vintage race cars do.

I"ve still got my old PPC revolver. They are a joy to shoot, since the bullets just seem to know where they're supposed to go. I stopped shooting PPC many years ago, but I still get out the old gun every once in awhile, just for old times sake. She still puts them in the X-Ring.
That's a nice looking gun. Mine will still shoot either single or double action, but I always shot double action, even at the 50 yard line. I tried SA, but shot better DA.

+1 for Berrys. My wife uses the 148 gr HBWC and the 125 gr FN and in different loads in .38 special and they work quite well. Quite clean and a lot less messy to reload as well.
