I was given an Ithaca 20 Ga. shotgun when I was a child, around 1969 to 1972. It was stolened a few years ago and I don't remember the model number but would like to find one like it. It was a 20 ga. automatic, ribbed barrel, and had a bird hunting scene on it, and some of the scene was gold colored. Does anyone know what the model would have been?

Ithaca SKB Model 900. I have a couple of these fine guns in 12 gauge.

Noah,

It's bad form to post on a forum and then expect information to be emailed to you - which deprives others of information that could otherwise be shared on the thread. If you ever check back, here's the Numrich parts listings for the Ithaca XL900 in both 12 gauge (http://e-gunparts.com/products.asp?chrMasterModel=076ZzXL900%2012%20GAUGE&MC=) and 20 gauge (http://e-gunparts.com/products.asp?chrMasterModel=076ZzXL900%2020%20GAUGE&MC=).

Spot on. I looked at one of these at a local dealer. Did SKB buy Ithica or opposite?

Neither.

SKB, a Japanese company that also makes really nice gun cases, golf cases, etc., makes sells shotguns under their own name now. They made them for Weatherby for a long time, too, but now Fausti makes Weatherby's line.

Ithaca went under but was bought and reconstituted by some guys in Ohio. They make a limited but beautiful line of guns.

AB, I know SKB is not famous for building junk. I've shot friends O/U's in 20 and 28 ga. and they were very nice. How do their semi-autos compare? I've seen them on a few auction sites priced quite reasonably.
