What the heck is wrong with me?

I kinda went nuts here. All new (to me). Never had any of these types of rifles (closest was a M96 Mauser). Bottom is "collector grade" Yugo M48 from Mitchell Arms with certificate.
Initial impressions - I love the Enfield action (as expected after all I heard). I do not like the Mosin-Nagant action at all, but had to have one after seeing Enemy at the Gates, and I thought $99 was a decent price with that laminated stock.
Someone stop me before I Mil-slurp again (suck up another milsurp). :D

Sigh. :(
Another non-attending member of Guns Anonymous. I buy guns to prevent crime. The way I figure it is the more I buy, the less there are for criminals. I don't even get a tax break for my private crime prevention and public safety measures yet I do it as my civic duty. Thinking globablly (not that I wave the blue flag of the UN), I do it to keep it out of the hands of dictatorships so as to preserve in the hands of the freedom loving peoples everywhere the means to rebel. Oh, that my parents should have raised me on such noble (and expensive) principles.

Seems to me it's time you add a semi auto to your milsurp collection. I recomend a FAl or L1A1.

I do not approve of you letting those russian and german trash rifles touch the magnificent enfield. :)

I may have to refer to it from time to time, if you don't mind...:)

Yes, but milsurp FALs are such a pain, what with the Form 4 and the extra $200 tax stamp. ;)
Civilian replicas just don't have that feeling of history soaked in with the cosmoline that honest-to-Wodan milsurps do.

What's wrong with you? Aw, no big deal. You're just infected with the Gun Bug, is all. Aside from a potential for bankruptcy, the primary symptoms are a sore shoulder and tendonitis in the elbow of your cleaning arm.
Now, it has been known to threaten marriages and other relationships. Some guys will get a gun for the wife, which many believe is a fair trade, and that has been known to help the relationship if not the billfold...
Once infected, the results are inevitable. My advice is to just relax and enjoy it.

Re Negative effects -
-Relationship with significant other: Nope - my live-in, hairy-legged bitches don't mind at all - neither do my male dogs. (hey, it's proper diction). No other humans in household to complain. Actually, I have one dog who is scared of his own shadow, and every time I rack an action on a gun, he jumps off the bed and goes to hide under it for awhile. :(
-Tendonitis in cleaning arm and sore shoulder - yep, but no problemo - I can deal.
-Bankruptcy - errr, no comment. But at least I'm acquiring something that will retain value, not squandering money on gambling, vacations, or drugs.
Trash rifles touching enfield - tee hee. Well, they're not actually touching, you see, lest the Enfield get a contact infection of "suckage bolt" from the Mosin.
Yes, I do need some semi-autos - quite true - Garand and FAL next classic semis on list (as well as an non-historical SU-16 - wasn't there a Russian fighter jet with that name?)
4x50 Gary - nice justification - I shall have to use that.
Thanks all for letting me share my ummm, problem. I'm quite sure I'm a piker compared to many THRers. :)

Tamara; you simply have to do the best you can with what you got. I have an L1A1 with as many brit part's as the Gov. will allow, and the selector going to full really would'nt do much for me. I once shot an H&K 21, that's a 7.62 battle rifle at approx 11000 rpm, there really isn't much point. But it were fun...Oh yes...it were. Must get L1A1 Futo, NOW PARTYBOY.....NOW!:D

Maybe that's what's been making me itch all over. With my brand-new CRFFL, will the condition get better doc? Is it terminal? :what:

Some say the cure is to get the CRFFL, since you save so much in transfer fees. Is this a case of the cure being worse than the disease, though, if you end up with even more/way too many? Still, better disease to have than say, elephantitis.

You get tired of insulting that wonderful russian doll, you just give me a buzz. She's prettier than these hags I got locked in the closet. You getting those local or having them shipped in?
BTW, Cruffling is not a disease, it's a state of enlightenment.:p
