I bought Redding set that has both and frankly did not like them. They always seem to catch the brass in my rockchucker on the upstroke.

Maybe I got a bad set, but I would recommend you try RCBS or Hornady.

On average, any FL sizer works as well as any other.

The best expanders are in the Forster sizers and/or Lyman's "M" expander dies.

The best neck sizer die for common brass and fired in factory rifles is the Lee Collet.

I concur 100%

Good advice here, one thing I'll add is to order a split style die locknut to go with the Lee collet die. Setup on these needs to be kind precise and with a real locknut you'll only have to do it once

Will the collet smash and deform the neck of the 25-06 case?

You need both a Neck Sizing die and a Full Length Sizing die. About every 5-6 reloads, the neck sized cases will need a FL resizing, or they will not chamber easily.

The collet die down-sizes the neck by squeezing it against a mandrel inside the neck. Too much pressure can create a series of small ridges on the outside of the neck but you really have to get after it to make them. You can measure and adjust, and measrue and adjust, till you get the proper tension or you can keep a bullet handy when sizing and see if it fits inside the neck. The bullet will slide inside a fired case but will not slip inside one that has been neck sized. It is not difficult to adjust, just putz with it awhile and you will get it right. Some have experienced a problem of the mandrel being a little too large in diameter which results in not sizing the neck enough to tension the bullet. The fix for that is to take emery paper to the mandrel and knock .001" or so off the diameter to create a tighter fit. I have a collet die for all my bottle neck cartridges. They work really well.

RCBS in standard dies. Redding in bushing. All above are good choices. The collet can be a problem till you learn how to adjust it as said above . I have found no accuracy or brass life advantage using standard neck sizing dies over standard FLRS dies. Controling the shoulder bump helps when FLRS.

I full length all of my hunting rounds. I shoot sub moa with them. I worry that i might get some cra* in the chamber and when that big buck comes along i can't chamber a round. or in a culling situation i can't get a couple of shots off. I am prepared to have the very slight accuracy drop off.

I have Forster FL dies for all my hunting guns and they are great!

I would say it all depends on what brand you like. I personally don't like Hornady dies. RCBS and Lee are ok but I like Reddings the best. Its like asking who makes the best truck.

When you neck size, whatever the die chosen, only neck about 1/2 the length of the neck. Let the other 1/2, unsized, help center the round in the chamber.
