I have a chance to buy a Zeiss Conquest in either 4.5 -14 x 44 for $599 or 4.5-14 x 50 for $659. They are both silver with side focus. Which would you guys get? I have a Zeiss 3-9 x 40 on my elk rifle and love it.

With good glass I always go for the smaller objective for the lighter weight and lower mounting but the 50 will give you slightly slightly better light transmission at higher magnification. If you want the absolute brightest get the 50 if you want the smaller lighter one get the 44 (I am assuming it's lighter i did not actually look up the specs, I will leave that to you if that is a consideration).

I would go with the smaller objective. You won't notice that big of a difference and the money saved can go to ammo. Thats just my opinion.
