While paying on a lay-away at my local shope I came across a still in original box with brush and tool model 66. The .357 is in unfired condition and is an engraved piece with "West Virginia Fraternal Order Of Police" down its barrel. The FOP star just aft of the cylinder and 1 of 175 below the cylinder. The grips are smooth (uncheckered) and everything on the gun is new gun tight. The price tag on the gun was $595 and from what I've read that is a bit high for the model. I went ahead and got it though, the engraving and condition made it worth it to me. Just thought I'd share my find

Sounds like a nice find. Model 66s aren't made anymore, so a NIB gun has to be worth a premium to those of us that appreciate them. The model 620 that replaced it is selling for $603.00 on Guns America, so I think your price was OK for what you bought.

Very nice. I have seen a few Nassau County PD in the same package you describe going for quite a sum more than what you payed. Enjoy! Bill

Congrats! One of the sweetest revolvers they ever made. And they won't make anymore like it.

That is a more than fair price for a commemorative gun - no worries about the price. Sounds like a nice find. Enjoy it.

Good buy! The one revolver that I will never part with is a 66-1. That thing just shoots where I look.
