Hi Guys:

Did a search but nothing came up. I hate the G19 serrated trigger but I am not sure if the G17 smooth face trigger and trigger bar can fit the G19. Anyone can help?

Also the aluminum trigger setups thoughts?? I understand they provide a shorter takeup and reset?

Yes, you can use the G17 trigger and trigger bar in the G19. Only parts you cannot use from the G17 are the barrel, recoil spring assembly and the locking block. The only thing I'm not sure about is the slide stop lever. But everything else is compatible. This is what is neat about Glocks.

Forget about the aluminum trigger, especially if the gun is going to be used for defense. I guess if you're building some kind of wild Unlimited type gun, then go ahead and knock yourself out.

Thanks Silent Bob,

I will proceed to get the G17 trigger setup. For the life of me I do not know why they went with a serrated trigger in the G19??

The aluminium was just curiousity!

For Glock's compact and subcompact models, they have had to resort to a method of adding so-called "target features" to their guns in order to meet the BATF's import point system. They get points for target features such as the flimsy adjustable sights on the guns (which are removed at the Smyrna facility and replaced with fixed sights) and the serrated triggers (which unfortunately are not removed).

Save yourself some money and take the serrated trigger out of the pistol and sand it gently with some fine grit sandpaper to your liking and reinstall it.

I was looking at the Glock parts list a few weeks ago and the standard-frame guns do NOT use the same trigger/trigger bar assembly. Look at the part numbers. Then I visually compared the parts, and the hump to lift the firing pin block is close to 1/4-inch off, comparing the G17 and, IIRC, the G19 versions.

There are three or four different trigger assemblies. Make sure you gots the right one.

Maybe THAT'S how the Glock can "fire out of battery!"

I put a G17 trigger bar in my wifes G26 along with a Glock 3.5lb connector and it works just fine.
