A lot of places seem to be selling replicas of the US M7 Tanker holster for $30-$40. CTD has one, for example here - http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LEG195-33.html.

Has anyone used one of these? I am thinking about using it with a 4" K-Frame Smith and Wesson and possibly my CZ-75 (SP01) if it fits. Any experiences?

There are FAR, FAR, FAR better shoulder rigs than the M7.

-It might have been fine for open carry for WWII, but the chest strap might give away that you got a gun.

-It doesn't distribute weight well- it only has one weight bearing shoulder strap.

- While the "lift the dot" milspec fastener is great for retention, it will make for an abysmally slow draw.

+1 what Dogtown Tom said. Holster design isn't a field where the classics have aged real well. If you're interested in one for the historical angle, I'd say go for it. For a working holster, I'd look at something better.

I use IWB for concealed carry so this would just be for carrying outdoors or that kind of thing. I don't expect super-fast deployment at this price point as long as the rig is generally durable and functional even if it is low-tech.

Anyone got a picture of a GI actually wearing an M7? I have a couple originals and I can't ever find a pic of one in use.

I didn't see the OP say he was trying to cc in it (maybe he is, he just didn't say that), so I am assuming he knows it's not that concealable. As an open carry holster, this style is just great, but the M7 is the least desirable of them - the M3, M7, and the Pilot's Victory. I have or had one or more of each style and tried them practically.

These particular reproductions are made (well, imported) by Pacific Canvas and Leather, and they have a wide variety to choose from. They are based in CA and import them from China, so the quality is not what you will get from a WWII authentic one or a repro from a higher end holster makers (EPS, for example). There are more than a few quality makers who repro the M3 "Tanker" style - it is a classic field holster that is practical, attractive, and historic. If you go to the PC&L web site to see all the variations they offer. Cabela's also sells them, the same maker. I have had a GI M7, and I much prefer the prior M3 style (aka, "Tanker" style).

1) This won't fit a K-frame. They make another model for that called a "Pilot's Victory" that will fit most 4" K-frames. I have one of these and the quality is acceptable for $30-odd dollars.

2) An M3 or M7 would likely fit your CZ, though.

3) The M7 design is a bit annoying -the chest strap is annoying and the shoulder strap on the same side slips. The prior M3 is a better design - no chest strap and the shoulder strap on the opposite shoulder for better weight distribution.

I have three of the M3 design, one an original M3 from a WWII bomber crew, I carry a 1911 in it sometimes. Very practical. I also have two El Paso Saddlery repros made to fit a 3" N frame and it is very, very nice and works great.

This is a WWII M3 I have, without the chest strap:

This is an El Paso Saddlery "Tanker" repro. It is a direct copy of the M3, just made better and cut to specific guns. It is very comfortable:
