Ok, If all Yous guy's saw 28 day's later, then don't let me down, tell me you saw Dog Soldiers. A little know but totally awsome Werewolf vs. Brit Army movie, set in Scottland, deep in the woods. SA-80's are full of blank's and dumped early on, as it starts out as a training mission, gone bad, ...very bad. T-mission brit's run into a group of slain special op's guy's (one survivor) and pick up tricked out MP-5's, A mossberg pump, An H&K G-3. The Carnage insuse. Kinda Evil dead two meet's Aliens with Werewolves and Brit Soldiers. Underated and truly an excellent Horror flick. Rumor is that there may be a sequal, We can only hope. Keeter:D

Excellent movie. Along with some of the creepiest werewolves ever put on screen.
Keeping this on the gun path, the leapfroging cover fire scene towards the beginning of the movie was well done.
And somebody needs to teach the Brits how to load their shotguns faster. :)

The british DVD of "28 Days Later" is out, not sure if the American release is yet (has a different ending, IIRC). I liked "Dog Soldiers" MUCH more than 28 days. If you caught Dogs on the sci-fi channel a few months back, there isn't much new on the DVD. Surprisingly enough, that whole collie vs intestines scene was not editied for tv :D
28 Days was just silly. It had some pretty good scares, but the whole final chapter was ridiculous.

Wow,,, Jason I can't beleive you did'nt like 28 day's, I freakin loved that movie. I think it gives Romero's movies a run for the money. I kinda see myself as a Zombie movie freak and it may be my all time fave. Guess I'll have to see the brit version for the other ending. Zombies = great target's; Apocolypes=no more NFA, No more NAF+zombies= a whole lotta fun. :D

I also remember watching Dog Soldiers some time last yr and being very impressed with it. I remember this one Brit who, during a lull in the battle with the beasts, was reminising over how gutsy the troops were who had to fight in North Africa against overwhelming odds. He said they had balls of British steel. :D
He later proved to have a healthy set of 'nads himself!

It's a military fraternity among the Lakota (aka Sioux). They were very valiant against the U.S. Army in the Indian Wars; afterwards, they've been very valiant against the foreign enemies of the U.S. Very cool and manly guys.

That Particular Brit with the steel ball's meet's his end in an enviable way. He Fist fight's a werewolf, looses, but as it opens it's jaw's to rip off his face he say's "I hope I give you the SH#%'S" Man I LOVE THAT SCENE.....KEEDER:D

Saw it last year. A very guilty pleasure.:D
And, unlike "Bravo Two Zero" I did not need subtitles to understand what they are saying.:D Where's my English to English dictionary?

"Bravo Two Zero" is a book by an ex-SAS operator named Andy Mcnab about his unit's actions in Iraq in Gulf War 1.

That was no G3 in Dog Soldiers, it was a FAL - or an L1A1 to be precise.
Excellent movie! This thing bombed at the box office, but has become a cult classic in video rentals.

Or SLR [Self-Loading Rifle] as the Brits called it.

I think the British army refers to it as: "The rifle we used to have that went 'bang' every time you pulled the trigger..."

Keith, [geezer voice activated] back when all this was orchard, the Chumleys used to call it "The Mechanical Musket", old boy.

Oh, I see, the same way we Yanks refer to the M14.

Clearly a B-Movie but gotta admit, the werewolf scenes were very creepy and effective.

Tangentially - on the subject of gun movies - the local film critic knucklehead said this about "Secondhand Lions": "Duval and Caine make the film watchable, but there's too much gunplay for the movie to truly be the child-friendly entertainment that it pretends." Maybe so, but that sounds like a good reason for adults to go see it!

Excellent "B" movie- "Night of the Living Dead" with werewolves instead of zombies. Lots'o good clean killing fun (no need to feel bad about zombies or werewolves).

Actually I've never seen the movie, and I didn't say it was an L1A1. I only said that the L1A1 was called the SLR by the Brits. Maybe you need to READ closer :p JK, but I've gotta say this thread has really got me interested. I'll have to rent it.

Finally got around to watching this movie on DVD. I wish I had sooner. GREAT "B" movie. I was very pleasantly surprised.
BTW: The producers do acknowledge that they took the name from the Lakota in their commentary. There's also quite a bit of other "homages" to other films in the movie. I only caught a couple on my own.

Well, my version is the "Directors Cut" and in that, it's an L1A1. It's only in the cheap discounted version that it's a G-3!
Also, in my version there's more women, and they're naked, and have really cool guns and their heads explode...

Just saw this film for the first time tonight and it is very good. :) Picked up a few lines from ALIENS (short controlled bursts) but a good, fun movie.
When the werewolf took the shotgun, blasted it and threw it back into the cabin, I thought that I was going to bust a rib. :D

In the best traditions of British horror - low key and funny.
Did anyone spot that the lead is the son of one of the great Dr. Who's? 'Captain Ryan' is also pretty famous in my part of the world.
