I have narrowed my revolver search down to either a Ruger GP100 or S&W 686, both in a 4inch barrel.

I have been looking over finished auctions on Gunbroker, but I am just curious what you guys think is a good deal for a NIB GP100 or S&W 686? I am going to the show this weekend of knowledge is power :)

I usually use the prices found at www.budsgunshop.com as the price point. How do the prices there compare with the research you did?

The last time I checked Bud's, the 4" 686 was $96 less than my local sportsman's warehouse. It was another $73 cheaper at Bud's Law Enforcement web page (for a total savings of $169 if you're LE or Security or active/retired Military). I heard that the prices have gone up, but I haven't looked...

Good Luck.

A new GP100 should easily come in at $500-550 or less. A 686 at the same store will just about always cost $200 more.

Pricing seems consistent with my research on the S&W. However, the price on the Ruger is a lot lower (~$100) than what I've seen on gunbroker.

Either way, thanks for the info. Always good to have a sanity check.
