I bought a CD Field grade side by side shotgun 2 years ago and have had nothing but problems. I noticed that CD now makes a Field II and has discontinued the Field (I). I would like to hear from others who have CD products. So far I am not impressed with thier products or customer service.
I spent far to much $ on this shotgun, more than double than some of my best shooters.

Charles Daly is a name similar to Betty Crocker, i.e., it is nobody. Various companies over the years have used the name on shotguns, handguns, etc. Somebody else can fill you in more on the history but my opinion is 'let the buyer beware.'

I've got a CD over and under 12 gauge that I love. I got it second-hand, wouldn't think of even trying another gun for upland game.

Charles Daley died before 1900. The company he began has never made a single shotgun. They are an importer.

Early Daleys were made in Prussia, and of high quality. Later, they have been made in a variety of Third World countries. Quality varies from junk to pretty good.

The stuff after 97 is good.

Even on their website they warn of older Chuck Dalys being crappy and they refuse to work on them, provide parts or info.

my dad bought a C.D. pump 12 gauge
it was fine till ot broke
but C.D. fixed it for us and if i recall, paid for shipping too and from (i may be wrong about that part)
now the gun is fine
i like it.....
at least they fixed it

What about Charles Daly semi-autos? My mom and stepdad bought a 20 gauge CD semi-auto. They did not tell me or ask me about it until after the fact.

My first thought was, "uh-oh!"

Any input would be appreciated.
