ar15chase February 4, 2009, 08:50 PM I just bough 200 rds. of PMC 55 gr. 223 ammo. I have never shot this ammo. Is it any good? I nomally shoot Winchester, but this was cheaper, and I have been having a hard time finding what I want. Nobody can keep the good stuff in stock.

Rubber_Duck February 4, 2009, 08:53 PM It's plinking ammo, but good stuff for the price. It's gotten expensive to shoot Federal XM193 on a regular basis so I've got 400 rounds of the PMC on hand for practice (I've been saving my XM193 and Q3131 for "later" use).
DougW February 4, 2009, 09:58 PM PMC is very good South African ammo. I think that the 55gr is close to Q3131 or XM193. Too bad they are gone now. I still have some 124gr 9mm thaat I use in match work.
Gun Slinger February 4, 2009, 11:30 PM PMC is a Korean owned ammunition manufacturer. They are also still very much in business.

husker February 5, 2009, 12:10 AM i just bought 15 boxes 20 count for$9.00 a box. i shoot it all the time. its good cheap ammo. the last 400 rounds i shot were all consistent.
mp510 February 5, 2009, 12:19 AM I bought a quantity of PMC 223A. South Korean made , very accurate and reliable. With iron sights and my AR, I get about 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards.
4Freedom February 5, 2009, 12:22 AM I heard its the worst brass you can buy from reading several reviews, but its good enough for the price. I myself have decided to get Prvi Partizan and XM193 ammo.
Covey Leader February 5, 2009, 12:29 AM I just bought 20 boxes of PMC for 7 dollars a box. Never shot it before. Gonna give it a try on monday.
Evenflo76 February 5, 2009, 11:48 AM I have fired and reloaded PMC Bronze ammo. It shoots reliably in my Dpms AR and the brass is stronger than Remington from a reloading standpoint.
It is the cheapest non-russian made ammo on the market. Go for It!!

You have lower standards than I do sir. I've had similar results to yours with PMC. Serbian PPU 55gr gets me solid 2MOA groups for around the same price.

RockyMtnTactical February 5, 2009, 12:35 PM It is decent ammo. Not great, but decent.

You're thinking PMP. Not sure if they are out of business, but I don't see it around anymore.
CB900F February 5, 2009, 02:27 PM Fella's;
I've shot about one box of the PMC Bronze. I can say that it is without a doubt, the dirtiest commercial .223 ammo I've ever tried to clean up after. The stuff would have to be minute of gnat before I'd be willing to put up with the grime & hassle of clean up again.

camxrr February 5, 2009, 02:54 PM I concur CB900F. I've used PMC in 223 and in 45acp. And man o' man is it dirty, the dirtiest i've seen. I dont mind much because i find cleaning my guns relaxing, but you will need to load up on patches.
Float Pilot February 5, 2009, 02:59 PM I have been buying PMC ammo for plinking for years. 20 years ago their 30 carbine ammo and 5.56mm ammo was pretty good stuff.
I too recently bought a bunch of new PMC ammo for 9 bucks a box. It does not shoot groups nearly as good as the 20 year old ammo does.
I chronographed it and it is slower than it used to be and there is a huge variation between shots. (132 fps) The only other ammo that I have recently shot with a worse variation was some Igmann 6.5 Swede.
DougW February 5, 2009, 10:10 PM OK, I got it. PMP is SA.

possum February 5, 2009, 11:41 PM it is the ammo that tactical response carries in thier gear store, it must run good or they wouldn't stock it.
Lloyd Smale February 6, 2009, 07:32 AM I was told that pmc was a korean company that is owned by Rev Moon the leader of the religious moonys that used to about live in the airports in the 70s i dont know if the still hang out in airports hastling people but when i was in the service in the 70s they would about drive you nuts. Just the fact a crackpot like that owns the company is enough to keep me from buying there ammo. Seems kind of strange that a religious man would make his money suplying ammo to armys doesnt it. Kind of makes a guy think.
