Repurposing barrels of the same caliber

Recently, I had an idea involving an old CZ-52 frame I picked up. I wanted to turn this frame into a 7.62x25 carbine, but there are no commercial barrels available for such a project.

Is it possible to take another 7.62 barrel, say from a Mosin Nagant, and lathe it down for such a purpose? Or would doing this cause the barrel to weaken so much that it would be unusable?

twists are different as one bullet weighs about twice the other.
might be fun as a what if/ can you do project but i doubt you will get any much better than plinking accuracy.
good luck
