Believe it or not, I'm starting to go to my local smallish gunshop. Last time I was in I had no problem finding primers, and they store their powder in back, so you have to ask for it. All the big box stores (Sportsman's Warehouse, Joes) have pretty bare shelves. The prices at the smaller shops may be 10% or so more, but once you figure in Hazmat fees and shipping you may come out even...or ahead.

Powder Valley has the best supply right now. They're running 12 days behind on their orders, today they're filling Jan. 22 orders.

+1 on Powder valley. Great people to deal with and they really try to do their best to expidite your order in a timely manner even in this current rush on reloading supplies. My order that I placed back in December is finally on its way.

IF you are going to order a pile of powder, then by all means compare Powder Valley, Wideners, and Grafs. There will be a $20 haz mat fee per order, so 1 or 2 pounds is NOT going to be cheaper.

I fully agree with Rickomatic. Support your local gun store for small powder purchases.

I was able to buy 8lbs of Accurate #5 at the local gun show for $129. That's just $11 more than Powder Valley before shipping and hazmat. Guess I got lucky.

Just picked up an 8# keg of Bullseye at a local gun shop. $100 out the door and he through in a couple hundred .45 ACP cast bullets for free. :)

Powder Valley is sucking wind right now. I was going to put an order in but they are out of just about everything I am looking for. They are just about out of primers all together.

You guys are lucky, my local gun shop wants $30.00 for 1# of W231, that's the only size they carry too :cuss:

$30 for a lb of powder is outrageous!! I don't even like paying $20 but that seems to be the going price these days...
