I've decided on a KAHR P45 for my CCW rig, and now I'm still trying to finalize my holster choice.

The problem is warm weather. Does anyone carry something similar with shorts and a polo shirt type clothing? I will carry strong side under a polo shirt, but I'm still torn between IWB or OWB (leaning toward OWB for comfort/access).

Does anyone carry a KAHR (or similar) that can offer advice?

Thanks!

For summer carry (ie shorts and a T or polo), you are better off with a IWB holster.

I recommend this (http://www.ttgunleather.com/catalog/i65.html). It offers a little more cant (forward tilt) than this one (http://www.ttgunleather.com/catalog/i35.html) and lowers the gun a little lower into your pants, reducing the exposure of the grip. The wait is like 3-4 months, but it's alot better than waiting 6+ months for a similar Milt Sparks VM2.

OWB isn't a horrible choice for concealed carry, but I don't think it should be done unless it's winter and you leave the house wearing a coat to help conceal it. For summer, a comfortable IWB is the way to go.

I've owned a Kahr pm9 and won't bother going into my experience with that gun as it might turn you off from buying a Kahr:) I wish you the best of luck with yours!

I carried a P45 in a Mitch Rosen Premier, wearing shorts, a tee shirt and a cover, either button-up or polo. The holster you use must hold the gun tight to your body, that really is the key to this type of hot weather carry.

Love mine, slim, easy to carry, and very easy to shoot.
(5th Kahr / zero problems.)

The carry in waist band at 3:00 was uncomfortable. Wife said I
looked deformed... so I myself would suggest a OWB model that
rides high on the belt. A Fist High Rise # 2. or a model like it
should be comfortable for summer wear.

Though recently after reading about appendix carry - In the waist band,
I switched, and would not carry my P45 any other way.
Sitting, moving, working, it it right there to grab - if needed... (sic!)

If seven CorBon Pow'rBalls don't do it at bad breath distance,
then maybe I shouldn't have picked a fight with an 80 year old
lady on oxygen, with only one eye, one leg, and using a walker;
I just hope I can outrun her...

Polo shirts can be a tough call, if you like a second helping of gravy or you're "fluffy."
The old spare tire will blow your cover if you put a stretchy polo over it. You'll print like crazy.
I drove past a jobsite yesterday here in Bristol and saw a couple of engineers walking around in hardhats with the typical engineer guts bulging under their tucked in polo shirts. They couldn't have smuggled a derringer under there.

I consider Polos to be one of the bigger challenges.

yup, that's me!

I even like the polo's with the elastic waist for that 20 extra pounds of "fat boy" comfort!

I have a Don Hume which works well since it is made specifically for this model. Fits like a glove. I carry in the 3 o'clock position with a slight forward cant.
