G'day all,

Just wondering when I should trim my .308 cases, before or after I neck size them?

I am using a basic Lee Loader, am just starting out ;)

For trimming, I was going to buy the Lee Hand Case Trimmer.

Will this be ok for the job?

Thanks, Steve

The Lee hand trimmer is fine, I used one for years. And trim after sizing.

Always after sizing.
Trimmer pilots center themselves in the sized case neck.

Trimming before sizing will result in more cutter chatter and rough cuts.

BTW: If you were full-length sizing, they will grow longer after sizing and need trimming again.
