On another forum, I saw some disturbing posts that Kimber rifles are not all they are cracked up to be. Specifically, some posters said they were not all that accurate compared to other common makes. One fellow said that his impression was that they cut away too much action and barrel steel simply to make the gun lighter and as a result ended up with a flimsy rifle.

I know a lot of you have them. Please provide some feedback. I am leaning toward the purchase of one in a .300 WSM. Your opinion and experience will help me in my decision. Thanks.

It seems some of the early versions had some issues. Most newer guns seem fine. I have only had my 308 to the range once so far so I cannot comment on long term relaibility but my last 3 groups of 3 shots at 100 yards were 3/4". It did take a few rounds for me to figure how to shoot a 5 lb rifle for accuracy.

If extreme accuracy is your ultimate goal I would not expect to get 5 shot groups under 1/2" from such a light rifle. If you want a ultralight rifle that gives more than adequate hunting accuracy the Kimbers are a bargain.

Look around on www.24hourcampfire.com There is a lot of discussion over there about Kimbers.
