I picked up a .357 Rossi J-frame revolver the other day, hoping to keep it as a carry piece for a little while so I'm in the market for a good holster. Anyone have any recommendations?

The folks at The Holster Store have some nice holsters at good prices. Made in USA too. The sell off of ebay.

Don Hume (http://www.donhume.com/) has leather holsters at a very reasonable price. Some are priced as low as Nylon holsters from Uncle Mike's.

Check out Ray's Holsters. As I type my trusty 642 is on my side in a holster I bought on line from Ray's for 35 bucks. Good holsters for the money in my opinion.

I have a clip on, no thumb break holster for a snubby, I don't need it anymore, $20 plus shipping.

Do a good search of Ebay, I have picked up Don Hume, Desantis and other quality holsters for as little as $10. Most makers offer decent pancake style or speed scabbards that work great for concealed carry. I usually look in the "box of holsters" in every gunshop I go in. Sometimes deals can be had. I picked up a Desantis speed scabbard for my 1911 at a gunshow for $5. This is the way to go until you know exactly what type of holster you want, then you can spend the money for a nice new one. Most people who have been carrying for a while have a box of holsters in the attic that were just not right for them. Good Luck, Bill

Seconding don hume. I have one of their agent belt slides that I picked up off of ebay for around $20, including shipping, IIRC.
It's made of stiff hide, so one-handed reholstering is a snap. For a J, it's a good way to go; very low cost and low profile. The loops are wide, however, so it's best with a 1 3/4" belt to keep rock-stable if you are going to be practicing speed demon presentations with it...

Heres my desantis coxy partner for my M&P 340. I bought a blackhawk serpa (only good for open/range carry). I like this one the best I ha to buy it directly from desantis at $70.00 due to being left handed, but I have seen them as low a $50.00. Google It.

I'd recommend an IWB holster from AJ Concealco. They're about $70, lead time is only 3 weeks on average and they hold the weapon close to the side. They're also easy to put on and take off.
I have three of these now and love them.
God Bless
