I've enjoyed my 452 Lux for a year or so, and yesterday added a 452 American 16" barrel to the herd. Looking forward to the first trip to the range.

Well done on the American. I’ve had hours of fun at the range with mine; I need to get it back to the range soon.

Nice guns. The CZs I have examined at a local shop are amazing. After handling one, the other makers' standard offerings in .22LR all seem second rate.

Alexander;

Your just about 180 degrees from me. :D But then I've been informed that most folks are, so take this for what it's worth.

My first CZ was the American LHB with the standard barrel. I use it for gopher shooting here in Montana. It's wearing a Nikon Monarch 3.5-10X A/O mil-dot in Talley rings. The combination is impressively accurate. I'm probably going to buy an LHB Lux in the future.

Do the prerequisite ammo testing at the range, and you'll find what it likes. Once you start feeding it it's preferred diet, be prepared to put up with the consequences. Addiction, it's a wonderful thing. Now if I can just convince CZ to bring in the full-stock 452 into this country wearing it's bolt on the correct side of the action, I'll be able to buy another one!

Nice, you made a great choice! I've been looking for one myself, but like CB900F I shoot lefty and they are a little harder to come by.

Excellent, I also have a weak spot for those CZ 22s.

I finally got to take the 452 American out to the range this week. It was also the first time shooting with a bipod, which I liked a lot. I'm not the greatest or most experienced shooter, so I was happy with the outcome. After getting the scope sighted in I shot five shots at 50 yards. (Shown.) Room for improvement, yes, but I spent the rest of the afternoon pulverizing clay pigeons at 100-125 yards. Good times.

They shoot as good as they look!

The rimfire that is built like a centerfire! That's how they feel in my hands anyway. I love the tangent sights on my Lux. I can whack the 200 yard gong at the range offhand with bulk pack ammo, usually 3/5 times. It would be 5/5 if it was just up to the gun.

A 452 is on my VERY short list. I dropped hint after hint late last year and was disappointed to not find on under the Christmas tree. :(

Your photo shows a 452 Varmint, rather that an American. Was it just a typo?

They are both great rifles.

That's a 452 American 16. The Varmint has a 20" barrel, I just sent payment for a 453 Varmint and can't wait to shoot it. I have the 452FS and I am going to put the scope on the varmint and go irons for the FS just like you did with your pair.

mstirton,

Did you buy the 16 inch barrel to put a suppressor on it?

I notice that in the link, the barrel is threaded.

On the CZ Test Target that came with all of your guys CZ rifles how do they shoot compared to that target? I have seen several say they almost always shoot better than the test target. Does anyone have any insight as to what brand of .22 ammo CZ uses on the test target? CZ makes some excellent firearms! :)

I own several CZ rifles and pistols, and they all shoot much better than the test targets.

I bought a 452 Lux at a gun store 8 years ago not knowing anything about CZs. I really liked the adjustable rear sight that went from 25 to 200 yards. I shot a lot of ground squirrels with that rifle that summer and later dozens of jackrabbits. That 452 started me on an addiction to CZs, I now have 2 527s, a 75bd and the kadet kit for it. Great guns!

Likely story. That's the one 452 I still want, is the American 16". Congrats; you will surely love it.

Nice wood on that rifle. My varmint is not nearly as nice as yours.

What ammo did you shoot that target with? Keep shooting.

did you buy that rifle like that? if so, tell us what the bbl says, does it have p.p. or parker hale version, anywhere stamped on it? that was one that made it into the country, not a lot of them did, but they came prethredded, and capped at the end. would be supernice if yours was a factory one like that...

The factory-threaded barrel is apparently designed to accept a European-style threading on a suppressor. It is currently a non-issue for me as the CLEO in my county will not sign off on anyone's paperwork for NFA items, and I have not yet bothered to go the route of creating a legal trust. But I did buy the threaded barrel in the hopes of someday using it with a suppressor. When that day comes I will probably use an inexpensive adapter (http://www.rimfiretechnologies.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=CZ-A16) to facilitate a U.S. made suppressor.

The ammo I used was Federal from a 550 round 'value pack' at Wal Mart.

My scope by the way, is a Leupold VX-I 4-12 x 40 mm.
