The front screws of my PTR-91 have come out twice (handguard).
It is a .308 automatic so the recoil is pretty stiff.
I have red Loc-tite on hand, will this work okay to secure the screws?
How hard is it to remove if I need to?

Note that Loc-Tite does reverse with heat. If the red allows the screws to loosen, you may need to use an automotive grade.

Blue loctite loosens with hand tools and little/no heat. Red loctite needs 450F+ to loosen. You use red loctite to help fasten joints that you rarely intend to disassemble.

I use the bearing mount locktite for scope bases. It requires heat to remove, and has the added advantage of being able to fill small voids, so when applied to the mating surface of a scope base, it will fill any small mismatching of arc between the base and receiver. Wipe off any excess after tightening and you have a rock-solid base mount.

The one you probably want to use is Loctite 242 "Blue".
Its designed to stop vibration loosening, but allows removal with ordinary tools and no heat.
