I was wondering if it would be good as a sbr? are they reliable? I know that it is a pistol, but i did see one person convert one to a sbr. Is the .223 a good round to use for a close confrontation? Is it to much or not enough?

The 223 with enough velocity to fragment is a devastating close range round. Another benfit it shouldn't overpenetrate.

The PLR-16 IMO could be a decent SBR BUT WHY - To be different? If that's what floats yoru boat go for it. To me the AR platform, in the end, offers more choices down the road. IE swap uppers, aftermarket triggers, etc etc. Keep in mind velocity and fragmenting bullets is what makes the 223 perform otherwise it's just a very fast 22lr. IMO YMMV

I'd just keep is in it's pistol form (I've shot these and they are real flam throwers)

I heard that TAP ammo is loaded with powders that give minimum muzzle flash.
