Did anyone see the new cop show Karen Sisco ???

ABC has a new cop show called KAREN SISCO about a Deputy US Marshal.
Overall good cop show featuring all types of firearms from pistols to shotguns, including an great shooting range scene!
Also, it appears to have pretty realistic gun handling EXCEPT for a few typical "Hollywood" scenes including one where Karen goes to find her ringing cellular phone and it shows her quickly moving aside an unholstered (and loaded ???) pistol (perhaps a stainless Sig .380 ???) in her purse to find her phone!
 :what:
Anyone else see Karen Sisco and what did you think of it?
Thanks...

Crud, I forgot about it!
I watched "The Substitute 3" with Treat Williams. Godawful movie. Tortured plotline, and submachine guns and AK-47s that never run dry, not to mention lots of "suppressed" gunfire (with big suppressors on the subguns and a handgun) with reports that certainly weren't suppressed.
I give "The Substitute 3" three barfy guys. :barf: :barf: :barf:

Ok, I admit it, hot chicks and guns made me watch this, she has a rather nice figure, Karen that is, to bad she had to pull out the glock square fugly thing to ruin the curves. :D
The gun handling was pretty sad, they kept their fingers off the trigger but, they had them pointed at each other in every scene. The best scene was when she had this shotty with a short barrel pointed right at the head of her partner in front of the courthouse, and she looked liked she had never held a shotgun in her life.
Oh, but did her rear look good in all those form fitting pants, and the freqeunt camera angles down her blouse was fun too.

Thanks for the reminder I had planned to watch it but forgot it was on tonight. Luckily it doesn't come on here for another 20 minutes. I was planning on watching the Brotherhood of Poland New Hampshire show so I will just set the VCR to record Karen Cisco.

Neither one of those actors looked like they had ever held a shotgun.. and WHY would they need them on the courthouse steps in broad daylight and plain clothes? And WHY would Duke send the Blonde guy off for a coffee WITH his shotgun?
OK another mild but serious beef. Openeing scene. Deputy blonde boy is smartly wearing a windbreaker out in the rainstorm. Sisco kid is sporting a form hugging wet-t-shirt that I'm now supposed to believe concealed a bullet proof vest? Vickie's new wonder bra must be made outta kevlar cuz that just did NOT happen. Stupid, sexist scene done for titillation only.
Also, Elmore Leonard might have invented the character... but this looks pretty lame/hollywood. Might watch it again to catch her dad's PI antics, not watching this one for the gun-fu.

Yes I saw it.
Someone ID the SIG she used in the purse and ankle rig. What was the gun the BG handed the boat owner in the bar? In the Bank scene , the guard used a Beretta, correct?
Seems like a decent show, liked the character whom plays her father...her boss seems cool. I just needed something mindless after getting home, from class, and while I ate.
"is that a birthmark" asked of her " kinda" she replied ( referring to the bruise left by getting shot and stopped by vest) ouch !

She's got a Sig 232, which we know was a gift from her father thanks to the J-Lo/George Gooney pic Out of Sight .

Did we watch the same show? Yeah I admit that the shotgun scene was pretty sloppy, especially at the end where the blonde guy almost walks in front of her muzzle and her port arms position was a little muzzle low. But other than that I saw no one acting reckless. Honestly, there weren't that many gun scenes anyway.
What is she a size 4 at most? The 870 IS kinda big for a small woman. Blonde guy did pretty well with his shotgun. His character is supposed to be a little incompetent, that's one of the sub plots.
Neither one of those actors looked like they had ever held a shotgun.. and WHY would they need them on the courthouse steps in broad daylight and plain clothes? And WHY would Duke send the Blonde guy off for a coffee WITH his shotgun?
I've seen Marshalls doing Federal Courthouse duty with 870s & 500s for high risk/high profile cases. Usually more than two though. In this case it was because of the high profile, Organized Crime guy being escorted.
Duke didn't send him out for coffee with the shotgun, he just asked for it while blondie was still standing there holding it. I'm sure he secured his 870 somewhere before actually going for the coffee. [nitpicking]

Nope. She had her tac-vest OVER her T shirt.

No gun was shown in the bar. In the car the big guy handed the boat guy a mask. In the bank the boat guy has a shiney, squarish semi auto with no outside hammer. Couldn't really tell what it was, it was never shown up close and when it was visable he was always moving.
Yes bank guard had a Beretta 92.
Predictable but not a bad show, for what it is.
She'd make a great Dillon poster girl.

I saw the previews couple nights ago. Why is she always breathing through her mouth like a freshman that just flunked algebra?
She does look yummy otherwise.:D
How were the gun scenes?

No gun was shown in the bar.
Actually it was. Two bank robbers are sitting in the booth at the bar and one hands the other a hangun wrapped in a hankerchief..."untraceable, no serial numbers".
Agree that the gun handling was mediocre...both Marshals looked completely ill-at-ease with the shotguns.
And my all-time most unfavorite movie gun nit-pick....
Flinching / closing of eyes at each shot. Probably not something non-gun-nuts notice but geez, it irks me everytime I see it. Get these people out on a range for familiarity and proper instruction.
Character development wasn't bad. Have to admit the most interesting person is the father.

I've not only seen Federal marshalls so armed (anyone see any of the footage of the Washington Sniper suspects being moved? Shotguns AND rifles), I've seen local county sheriff's deputies providing courthouse security with shotguns and rifles during high profile cases.

OK show. Saw one scene where she placed her backup piece (SIG?) in her ankle or leg holster. The line about her shooting as long as the targets did not move as the target range was pretty funny.
Thought the action with her dad going after the worker's comp scam artist as pretty funny.
The actress herself looks way too much like my ex-wife (85 pct), hair color, style and length, as well as her body(yes all of it) and facial build. That made it difficult to watch for me. I'm really mad at the 'ex' right now.

alright i admit it... i am a heathen. got bored watching sisco so i found a movie worth watching over just for the martial arts: The One.
couldnt stomach watching sisco getting all a-pitter-patter over her fling with the bank robber.
side note though, the fbi agent who told sisco her man-meat was a thug, hopefully that was just a bit-part for him and he will still be on 'the shield'.
in retrospect, the only good thing i saw on 'sisco' was her holding the shotgun. not that she held it properly, i just like seeing a woman hold a shotgun, dunno why. :D like kidman in 'the others', or that scene in 'dark blue' when the two cops are in the car and the woman is loading her shotgun up? i like that. must be a gun-fetish i have.

Another Karen Sisco oops...
Since the show takes place in the Miami-area, in another THR thread, it stated that Florida security guards could only use .38 wheel guns (unless theyt get some special permission from the state), well, the bank guard in Karen Sisco had a Beretta 9mm as his weapon!
:scrutiny: :what:
As a side note, one of the Hollywood-type shows (maybe EXTRA ???) did a piece with the actress who plays Karen Sisco.
It showed the actress at the GUN RANGE practicing with a REAL GUN to get ready for her role as a Deputy US Marshal -- cool!
:D  :D

maybe its a curse of the network the show is on...i'm still trying to recall anything shown on ABC that displays some form of intelligence.

I saw the commercial for that one.
There was a nice close up of her shooting her gun toward the camera. It scared the crap out of her when it went off. Never saw anybody shoot with their eyes closed before.
This is a comedy?

I wanted to watch it but I forgot about it. I just want to see if the actress on the show can do a decent job playing the character. Jennifer Lopez was awesome in the role as Karen Sisco.

She was a slut 10 minutes into the first episode "or sexually open"..whatever! Why'ed they have to do that in the 1st episode and with a nobody as it turns out.
Other wonders of episode 1
She shoots and kills one person
She shoots and wounds the previously mentioned love interest....
She pretty much spends her day running around town in nice weather doing pretty nearly nothing other than working her look. Somehow I think real cop-work is a lot different.
Her Dad seems to have only ex felons for friends and the writers seem to believe her boss and protector comes off better on a pair of canes...what's that all about, they couldn't let the dude walk????
Pretty much the weakest set of male characters you could ever imagine as pooly developed as can be. She busts her partners chops gratuitiously at the near end of the show with a level of finality that makes you wonder who runs the office, the crutch man or her.
It's mostly a show about her figure...and her very good looks..and not much else (and she sure is a hansom young woman that's for DanG sure)...
It's just another cop show and not even a too interesting one at that. I predict she continues to work her look and shoot lots of people. The shotgun scene on the courthouse steps is scary unless her pal liked having a 12 ga aimed 2 inches from his adams apple.
Given the American viewing audience ...it'll be a hit just like CSI and Nash Bridges.

Unfortunately the editing/scene continuation was too lame. I like the visuals, and we get HDTV at home so it looks fantastic.
But three scenes in particular just grated on me.
Opening scene, mostly thanks to the flashback- I wondered how the bad guy who you see darting out the back door can be shooting her from the front door 3 seconds later. And how did the partner get to the back door without crossing paths?
In the coffee bar with her dad and that ex-con she was wearing leather pants (I noticed, cause they looked like motorcycle leathers). When they walk outside she's wearing a skirt!
In the final scene with the boyfriend/bank-robber on the yacht, two things were wrong. First, she shot him. Unarmed, no threat, etc etc. Maybe that's the way it is with Federales. They can shoot anyone anytime. Second thing, he throws off the mooring line, and applies the throttle. She shoots him. He falls. She comes over to the boat, miraculously the boat is tied up, and the throttle is back to idle. In fact, the boat hasn't moved.
I'm sorry, slight nit-picking but please keep it plausible.

PS Even my wife was commenting on the poor muzzle discipline.
